I was truly amazed by this setup. It's so unique, fun & inspiring. I was surprised by how real the painted & added elements looked... the drawers with journals & that key tucked away. Really lovely work. Thank you 💚

This might be little corny but this January setup makes me think of sitting under a tree on a picnic blanket with journaling supplies & snacks & having a scrapbooking-picnic. It's really hot for most of the year in India where I live, so the winter months are when we can enjoy picnics.

I am exited by the creativity of your channel. I look at journal set ups every year. Some are so filled with junk that there is very little recording of daily life. I have been journaling since 1992. I love all of your spreads, I've always wanted to implement my daily devotionals in my journal, but coukfnt figure out how to make it aesthetically pleasing and you give me so much inspiration. This January set up is wonderful!

Looks amazing, as always. The journal inside a journal is such a cool idea. On a side note, I wanted to tell you that you’ve managed to finally push me outside my comfort zone of only using calligraphy in my bullet journal. I’ve always really liked the way you used serif style fonts, but I was scared of trying it myself because I figured I would mess it up and make it too uneven. But today I did my first heading in a serif style and it looks great! Thank you for the inspiration ❤️

I discovered your channel recently and was blown away by the creativity of your spreads, as well as the artistry. I think the little box of ephemera, with Bible verse papers to pull out, is my favorite part and favorite spread of this setup, because I can totally relate to having scraps of ephemera all around my desk (I only aspire to have them neatly tucked in a collection box like in your illustration. I love your layouts, but this one really speaks to me. I have been wanting to do a scripture journal. I may try an A&O a6 that came in the fall sub box. I agree about the paper in my a&o journals. I have the same journal you are using, but in b5. I think that even my highlighters pull up the tooth of the paper with two coats. Merry Christmas!

Thank you, Daksha!! 💝 For the themes, I’d say just choose anything 😅 Sorry I know that’s a lame tip. I know the feeling as well but if you’d like, you can go for seasonal themes for example it’s still winter on January so you can base something from that.

I'm trying bullet journaling next year and I bought a journal from notebook therapy, only to discover it has that same kind of shiny surface that doesn't work well with watercolour. The paper warps so much as well, very disappointing considering how many people I've seen use watercolour in their journals, I was really hoping it would work ❤❤

Both brands might have similar manufacturers too. The last notebook therapy I used was a journal released from the latter part of 2022 and I already noticed a slight coating but still quite manageable. But I got more surprised using watercolors on the new A&O paper. It was a struggle 😅 I tend to move my paint brush a lot too so I could see some coating being eroded if that’s the right term for it haha. I guess I didn’t notice that before when I was setting up my 2024 yearly spreads. I was using brush pens and I just realized there wasn’t much of the usual streaky effect which I guess favored by the coating on the paper. Or maybe its the pens themselves that prevent that because they aren’t juicy so I’ll need to test out other coloring pens 😄 Anyway, I hope you can find the technique that works for you on your journal 🩷
