Music gives meaning to sound, from meaning to sound, is born emotion. No need to introduce the Concerto for Violin and Orchestra in D major, Op.77, by Johannes Brahms, perhaps the most beautiful of the romantic violin concertos. Yet it is reputed to be one of the most difficult concertos to play. It was composed by Brahms at the request of one of the great violinists of the 19th century! A first plan of the work was made in four movements. The composer deleted the « Scherzo » which would reappear three years later in the material of the Second Piano Concerto, Op.83. The first movement opens with an « Allegro non troppo » which gives way to an orchestra of unusual richness. This movement follows the classical form with the double exposition of the orchestra and then the soloist. The interweaving of secondary motifs reveals the main theme of Tzigane allure. The writing of the violin is innovative because of its breadth. However, she also evokes a tribute to classicism. Johannes Brahms liked to repeat that the second movement was his weakness for the « Adagio » despite its melancholy. The passionate singing of the solo oboe preparing the entry of the violin in this chapter is particularly moving and celestial. The harmonization with the only wind instruments suggests it to us with insistence. In this same part, Brahms allows himself an infinity of respirations for one of the most beautiful themes of the concertante literature. The « Allegro giocoso non troppo vivace » which closes the score revives melodies in the Hungarian style. The chords and rising octaves of the violin expand the technique of the instrument with sudden changes of measure. The brief cadence of Brahms' hand accentuates the feeling of exuberance of this page worthy of a peasant festival. This masterful work has become a great classic in the repertoire for violin and orchestra. A beauty! *Lucien*

realmente un concierto hermoso , una gran orquesta y una gran interprete con un dominio pleno de su instrumento ademas de hermosa, Janine Jansen
While we live in a time of many technical geniuses of the violin, Janine Jansen musicality, orchestra awareness and tonality is unrivaled in present times.

I agree, she is the perfect blend of Bell's expression, Ithzak's passion, and Hahn's precision.

Paavo and Janine are the perfect match.
Breathtaking, brilliant. You can see the enjoyment in her face of the beauty she is creating in the finale of the 3rd movement. A feast for the heart and soul.
Merci Janine Magnifique !!!
Thanks for the beautiful time.
La melodia di Bramhs esalta janine in una performance emozionante.
Magnifique.
Increíble!!! Amazing 🎉🎉🎉👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
A beauty! *Lucien*
Janine is great !!!🥰

Listening to it leads to me towards moments of past where time and problems were more in consonance with reality. My youngness was a complet recall over music works like this. Perfect interpretation.
magnifique musique sublimée par une virtuose exceptionnelle et un excellent orchestre
Brutal advertising interrupts a violin concert at 3'15'' - this is outraging!

Wow, so powerful and intense! This is the most exciting rendition of Brahms violin concerto I've heard since Heifetz. She beats any male violinist. Hope to see her live performance in my lifetime.

Why must every comment about a woman be sexist from you? She’s not playing with her breasts so why is it a gender competition? It only is for people who are sexist.

@@thisisanewchannel-wd7jlthat's interesting, I don't know quite why, but I feel the same. I think it's because women tend to be emotionally more expressive than men, whilst men tend to be more cold and straightforward than women.
Bravo Beautiful JANINE! You're The ONE!

Por encima de su imponente virtuosismo Janine Jansen es expresividad pura

If for you music, and this one in particular, is something “relaxing” you don’t understand anything about it and are using it like cosmetics. a walk into nature, a warm bath or a massage session are relaxing: music is nothing of that.

"Music is nothing of that"? But yes, music is that too. Music is many-sided. You feel the music a certain way, and someone else can feel it very differently, and that's OK too.

Magnífico 😊
Thank you, wunderfull❤

Hermoso concierto de Brahms. Janine gran virtuosa y apasionada. Bravooo ,👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Marvelous
L' orqueste sonne comme la fanfarre. La soloiste est magnifique.
Emozionante e vibrante interpretazione. Bellissimo timbro e vibrato del violino. Mano elegante e precisa. Bellissimo ed elegante il modo di allontanare i bellissimi capelli lunghi dal violino nei momenti più appassionati. Exiting and vibrant interpretation. Very beautiful sound and vibrato of the violin. Very beautiful and elegant the gesture of removing the beautiful long hair from the violin in the most passionate moments.

This is an incredible performance! Much more dramatic sensation I felt compared with her last recording, As this seems to be an excerpt from Japanese TV program, I wonder if you have access to another great performance of Beethoven’s piano concerto No.3 I enjoyed played by Leonskaya?
Interpretazione perfetta! Penso che nessun essere umano potrà mai fare di meglio.
Thank you
좋은 연주 너무 잘 들었습니다. 고맙습니다.^^

BRAVO !
So mesmerizing
Great performance!!
Tremendo angel.
いいねぇ!やっぱり。超ドイツじゃん。いいわ、やっぱり。力強さと重厚さと暖かさ。ドイツ家具みたいな。
Paavo Järvi is one of my favorite conductors among Christian Thielemann. In Estonia there is a joke, that Finnlad is considered to be the country with thousand lakes (tuhande järve maa), but Estonia is country with thousend Järvis (järv, järve and järvi are different grammatical forms from the noun “lake”)… Nearly 30 members of this family are all musicians!
Hits all the emotional high points (and there are many of them) just right. Bravo! But don't disable thumb-down voting, we need our music critics.
Mr Brahms! I have nothing but to surrender for your... what, what, and eh, eh, I suddenly lost my words and my speech, and I remain spechless, this overwhelming music is almost too much for a little human beeing.
Please correct mistake ("Orchestra dell'Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia, Antonio Pappano "). The Conductor is Paavo Järvi. And it's the NHK Symphony Orchestra.

Very lively and emphatic performance and the smaller orchestra is just perfect! The arrangement of orchestral sections gives wonderful balance. Madame Jansen is the consummate virtuoso violinist! astounding performance, thank you for posting! (It is NHK Hall, not HNK - Nippon Hoso Kayoki)

And when I find my voice again, after this astonishing meeting I can say all kind of words, you know them all, so I will not say them. The only thing I will say is that it was a happy meeting between Janine and Brahms. The rest is silence.
Extraordinaire interprétation.
This is it : The Holy Grail !
