Journalist & author Craig Seymour conducted a interview in early 2001 when Janet was finishing her 7th album All For You, and during the conversation the topic of other female pop & R&B stars in the industry came up, and she discussed them all, Britney, Christina, & Jennifer Lopez. But on the subject of Aaliyah Janet seemed to have the most to say. And confirmed what was whispered and rumored for years, there was a desire to work together, scheduling conflicts are what got in the way. When discussing other pop girls Janet's always been coy and sweet but rarely goes on the way she does here about Aaliyah. And it's worth noting this was months before Aaliyah's death, so this wasn't Janet trying to be respectfulin light of the tragedy this was from the heart, and while she was still here.
