Late 80s to Early 2000s is when music started being good until it started becoming bad and generic. Lol I like some older songs in the 50s to 70s too but I prefer music a little later. Like temptations and jackson 5 were really good.

I m French, born and grew up in Paris and it s 22 years (on 37) i live nearby this place where the vidéo is shot: Bir-Hakeim bridge ('Inception' movie), Alboni Square and Passy metro station. My highschool was just up the building where she opens the Window. Honestly, i was very impressed by this vidéo, i ve never seen this bridge and area caught in such a beautiful Light and music. This is magic I almost everyday comes there (as a parisian and also as a private tour guide), and i feel it really magic The blue metro wagoons, it s my childhood, there were removed in 1992-1993 (there are now green)

Haunting intro makes me feel goosebumps

Back when artists put REAL thought into their videos. They knew how to set the atmosphere. This video today would probably be her stumbling around a nasty apartment getting nothing done, with random jump shots of her cyber-stalking his FB page or Twitter feed. Rick Ross would be the landlord so he'd drop a verse. It'd be Drake she's stalking so he'd do the hook. Instrumental at the end would just be a bunch of bass drops.

You are so correct I miss the days when music videos used to tell a story and made sense.

Definitely agree with the folks who say the 80's & 90's had great sounds back then as opposed to now [the 2000's]. To me, what made ballads great in those days were...the Voice-the emotions the singer poured into it [whether it was real or not], the Music-the sounds back then had a orchestral feel/quality to them or the simple guitar & piano was the main drive in the song to keep the emotions going, and most importantly, the Harmony-you CAN'T go wrong when the music AND singer flow together in the song, even groups can have a powerful song IF the harmonies between them are tight. A good combination of 2 or 3 always make for a good song or ballad. Some examples: this song [emotions], Janet Jackson's ''Lonely [voice & emotions], Bonnie Raitt's ''I Can't Make You Love Me'' [voice& emotions], Toni Braxton's ''Seven Whole Days'' [emotions & harmony], rock ballads: Heart ''These Dreams'' [voice & harmony], The Doobie Brothers' ''What a Fool Believes'' [harmony]. Anyway, that's it....anyone else want to add?

She simply commented on the part you said "the 2000s (now)" which isn't factually correct, since the year is 2015 we are past the 2000s, it is now the 2010s.
