Yes perhaps you were. I watch it every season, so I got to watch she and Val do their thing during season 19! I really wasn't into them at first. Their partnership grew on me. I think the show focused to much on their relationship, instead of focusing on their dancing, which is the only reason I watch DWTS. I will give it to her she was a very good dancer.

She was one of the contenders that season and would get nit-picked if the judges didn’t think she danced to her full potential. It wasn’t her worst dance but not one of her best, she performed it a lot better in the finals.

Val has a weak spot for janel. But i see that some menly dancers have a crush on there chosen partners by time. Is that professional for this job? I have my doubts.

Val is a jerk. Seriously, he says he has "a crush" on every partner he gets. It's all for popularity. For example, once during rehersal with Janel, his brother said to him "give the people what they wanna see, and they'll be voting for you". The guy literally said that WHILE Janel was in the room and then Val went on several interviews trying to convince everyone he had feelings for her. Anyway, I believe all male dancers on the show are a bit like that, but Val is just downright disgusting.

Apparently Janel actually caught feelings for him, and he didn’t actually feel for her the same after the show ended. She said she felt blind sided and that’s why they don’t talk or acknowledge each other anymore!
