In my book, Creativity for 21st Century Skills: How to Embed Creativity into the Classroom, I discuss Five Core Attitudes, Eight I’s, and General Practices for Enhancing Creativity. This session will give an overview of these, with examples for personal growth, for teaching, and for staff development. The Five Core Attitudes are (1) Openness to Experience; (2) Tolerance for Ambiguity; (3) Self-Discipline; (4) Group Trust; (5) Risk-Taking. The Eight I’s are Insight, Intuition, Inspiration, Improvisation, Incubation, Imagery, Imagination, and Intention. The General Practices are Ritual, Exercise, and A Decision to Live a Creative Life.
