Actress and weathercaster, Jane Dornacker, has been killed in a helicopter crash. She was 39 years old.
ane Carroll Dornacker (October 1, 1947 - October 22, 1986) was an American rock musician, actress, comedian and traffic reporter. She gained fame as a comedian, actor, dancer and as an associate and songwriter for the San Francisco rock band The Tubes; she also led her own band, Leila and the Snakes.

I'll never forget that audio footage of her I first heard on Dr. Donald D. Rose's website years ago. The traffic reference of her's I recall the most was that of the Dumbarton Bridge, which she comically called the Dumb Bridge.
I knew her when she lived in SF. A TALENTED AND FUNNY WOMAN. She fronted an all female band for awile.
I remember her when she was with the band The Tubes
Seeing her being resuscitated takes me right back to seeing that happen to my mother after cardiac arrest. Its amazing how far they habe come since the 80s.
Jane was the second NBC reporter to tragically drown in less than 3 years. Jessica Savitch was drowned in a car accident on October 23, 1983.
She was also one of the nurses in the movie the right stuff.
