Lok Sabha elections are being held in Jammu and Kashmir for the first time after the removal of Article 370. Interestingly, BJP, which was in the previous government of the state, did not even field its candidates on the seats of Kashmir Valley and National Conference and PDP, which were seen together before the elections, are contesting separately. I belong to the Gujjar community, and I believe you have been misled by the individuals discussing the Gujjar, Pahari, and Bakarwal communities. Their portrayal of these groups is quite different from reality. Gujjars and Bakarwals are essentially the same class of people, differing only in their choice of livestock. Gujjars typically keep cows and buffaloes, while Bakarwals tend to rear sheep and goats. However, both communities share the same genealogy and belong to the same sub-casts. They are closely related and share a nomadic lifestyle, migrating to higher hills in summer to graze their cattle or sheep. When Gujjars and Bakarwals come down to the plains, they often work in the lands of the Phari class people in exchange for grain. While some educated Gujar Bakarwals have transitioned to different lifestyles, the tribe as a whole still struggles with poverty. In contrast, the Phari community is quite different from Gujjars and Bakarwals. Although some Phari people also have livestock and live below the poverty level, they represent a combination of various upper-class communities. This includes Syeds, the highest caste among Muslims, as well as families of Rajas and Maharajas, known as Rajputs, many of whom are landlords. The Pahari community's identity is primarily defined by a shared language, which is a form of Western Punjabi. Based on this linguistic connection, they have formed the Pahari Ethnic group, recently receiving Schedule Tribe status in 2024, whereas Gujjars and Bakarwals were granted this status in 1991. I hope this clarification helps to provide a more accurate understanding of these communities.

Gujjar's don't go to higher reaches for their livestocks and neither they are fully tribals like Bakarwals They are essentially same as that of other paharis They actually took this matter of ST category to paharis very personaly which actually they never desrved other then Bakarwal community

@@travellingtechno How would you justify the same ethnicity among gujjars and bakerwals. They are closely related and share same subcastes. Not only this they speak same dialect i.e. gojri. Of course there is a difference and that is beacuse of rearing predomainantly goats on one side and other cattle on the another side. Plz don't mislead the people. There is no obvious difference.

Really like journalists views ... Specially when that guy from Jammu speaks .. he speaks like he knows more .. Both peerzada and senior journalists are well known journalist m.. Whenever we were having news from Kashmir these two names were there .. They both are like normal kashmiri people with decency and politeness, I have seen most 90% of Kashmiris like this .. I know about stone pelters too ..

Also, Saurabh Dwivedi's knowledge on RSS and extended Sangh parivaar is impressive. Itne bade reach wale kisi news channel pe mene personally RSS ko lekar aisa intrigue nhi dekha hai, mostly RSS is either extremely vilified aur revered, middle ground jahan par reality rehti hai uske aas paas nhi hote hain patrakaar aur media channel.
