@Drop Therapy possibly. I don't see so much heart and soul in mainstream music nowadays compared to 60's to mid-90's music. The whole entertainment industry have music and movies down to a science now. Low risk creativity + broad appeal = $ ... you'd almost think the content that's heavily promoted nowadays was made purposely to dumb down and numb the masses.

The problem with the 90's is that everyone was so tunnel visioned on having a good time, that messages like the one in this song and this whole album were blatantly ignored and left the powers at be to supercharge every destructive and exploitative practice into the 2000's while society was sedated with that good times attitude.
@caseycurran8803
Жыл бұрын
@Thomas Ingram that's been going on long before the 90's I believe. Only recently have I realized how blatantly pop culture exists to distract or sedate the masses. However, Just as has always been, those looking for meaning and propose in life will always find it regardless of the environment they find themselves in.

Is that life that I am witnessing, Or just another wasted birth. Now, we got emergency Oh, we got emergency on planet Earth Now, we got emergency Oh, we got emergency on planet Earth Think we're standing for injustice, White gets two and black gets five years, Took me quite a while to suss this, But now I know my head is cleared And a little boy in hungry land, is just a picture in the news, Won't see him in that tv advertising, 'cause it might put you off your food Now, we got emergency Oh, we got emergency on planet Earth Now, we got emergency Oh, we got emergency on planet Earth

I looked up the name of the spaceship, the "S.S. Orenda." According to wikipedia 'Orenda' is an Iroquois name for a spiritual power inherent in people and their environment. I just love Jay Kay and Jamiroquai!!

BASS LINE!!!!! Stuart Zender
The kids need education, And the streets are never clean, I've seen, a certain disposition, prevailing in the wind, Sweet change, if anybody's listening? Emergency on planet earth.

22 years after seeing this clip for the first time, I just realized the wah-pedal-shaped spaceship... brilliant! Apart from that, Jamiroquai is (or better... that Jamiroquai lineup was) my all time favourite band.

Don't sleep on Traveling Without Moving, that album is classic. That acid jazz movement w/ Jamiroquai, Brand New Heavies, Incognito, Down to the Bone in the nineties is legendary!
I love this song! Love from finland!
Found this promo advance cd in a dollar bin at a record store in OKC. No cover. Just the name and tracklist. The name sparked my interest, so I bought it. That cd is still in my collection. I transferred them to my laptop and phone, but best dollar ever spent twenty some years later. Jay Kay doing his thing and I’m along for the ride.

This could well be the theme song for 2020-2021. Should become No1. In the charts for 2021
I fucking love this band. They have literally changed my life. 3x Ive seen em in concert. Warfield, Union Square for free on 4th of July and also the Fillmore in 2005 I think. They have had such an amazing impact on my life.

This song rings even truer today as when I first heard it almost 2 decades ago. So blessed to have this music out there to help keep sane in a world that's far removed from it. We do have an Emergency on Planet Earth... and NO ONE'S still listening...
