Man it’s amazing how far ahead Jamie was without the current tech. 10 launch and 2400 spin is way too low and spinny for what they want today, but that 136 club speed is no joke.

it's funny when I swing slower wider more controlled it always goes farther I was always told you can swing faster on two conditions one being make sure you keep your balance though out the swing and number two being make sure you hit it in the sweet spot

lol his swing is literally maxed out in terms of length. Makes Daly look compact. Another inch or two and the shaft is resting on his traps. That's why he's producing such obscene lag and murdering the ball. Well that, and swinging out of his shoes. Respect. Must have taken a shitload amount of patience and practice to get the timing down pat but your average weekend hacker really shouldn't be taking advice from this guy - this style just isn't easily duplicated.

Ryan I totally agree. It is also a “muscle memory” swing like all the pros have. There’s no way of having the ability unless you’re hitting 1,000 balls a day for 20+ years. I heard of this from former long drive champion Jack Hamm AKA ‘The Hammer’.

  • @touristguy87

LOL the *style* is easy to duplicate. The clubhead-speed and ball-flight are not. You can say "lag is good" anything is good, whatever, when you're not actually playing competitive golf, just impressing people with distance. Or with the fact that you make money, but you're still a chowderhead

That would make sense as golf is the only sport where you may swing righty but its all your left arm and other way for a lefty. So if hes been playong hockey or other sports his whole life lefty and plays golf righty hes at a great advantage.

Sean Scukanec absolutely not what are you talking about? Right arm creates both accuracy and power for right handed golfers.

  • @bmil38

Coming from a hockey player and golfer here: Him shooting lefty in hockey has nothing to do with his power on the golf course. He is a righty in everything as most hockey players are, however, him (and most right handed hockey players) use a left handed hockey stick because the top hand being the dominant one gives more control of the puck (I personally don't do that). In fact, shooting righty and swinging righty are closer in shot style as your dominant hand is the one providing much of the power in both (much more noticeable in hockey than in golf) as your dominant hand is on the backside, pushing the stick/club through it. He is Canadian too, and Canadian hockey players have the tendency to switch hands while American players tend to use their weaker hand on top.

My best drives are about 320-340 yards, without any wind. That's when I catch the sweet spot. Clubhead speed is around 115-118 mph. I'd kill to have another 20-25 mph of clubhead speed like Jamie. And hit 350 yard "spinny" drives. 😳

It’s easy to drive long when your hitting a fairway the size of a football field. Harder when bunkers, water, and trees are in the way.

...crowds must have assholes. Anyway my drive is almost completely different...he uncoils near the bottom of his swing, I try to keep my arms extended all the way through. Definitely costs me some distance given a perfect straight shot but I have far better control and reliability than with his technique...what he really and truly relies on is hitting the ball square and straight. His swing makes that almost impossible. So it's not muscle power or "swing speed" that he has as an advantage. It's his ability to hit the ball square despite his swing..

Drew Miller it was actually wind, air temperature and humidity. Everything was “cold”. Temperature was not overly warm. Wind was cool and into his face, and humidity was high making the air resist the ball fight .

Agreed it's all about focused power not club head speed where you can kill the golf ball the golf ball will always get stronger than the today's golf clubs you see today even if technology advances golf balls will always become more heavier with more cores and the golf clubs itself are more lighter than what it was back In The Day and don't forget about the wind most people nowadays focused too much on club head speed because even club head speed won't make it towards the wind and it is 100% true unless you will be able to go back in time where clubs and golf balls are the opposite back In The Day than what today's technology looks like then you can crush that ball towards the wind and the weirdest thing is that today's technology is making golf way harder than it supposed to be alot of years ago That is why it's all about focused power and not club head speed because it will make you kill the ball even if you didn't notice or having the right fluent tempo and it's ok to slow down a little bit on the top of the golf swing as long as the power comes from the down swing keep that in mind about the wind it's extremely important
