How can Liverpool have underachieved last season but overachieved this season? Make it make sense Jamie, we’ve had a decent season in a sense a trophy and champions league football to look forward too next season, but we should always be looking to fight for trophies and getting to the latter stages and finals and hopefully winning some of the time

How have Liverpool over achieved? If anything they are exactly where they should be. Saying they over achieved insinuates that they should be lower than 3rd. No one below Liverpool has warranted being above them. Demolished the 4 sides directly below who are challenging for Europe… Spurs, Villa, Chelsea, Newcastle.

Because they are the 7th highest spenders over klopps time. If Newcastle, villa, mam utd, Chelsea, spurs all spend more than you most years and you continue to finish higher and win trophies that is overachieving

Biggest problem is spending and FSG. They wont spend more than any of the top 10 teams. This is also without the Klopp factor and the pull he has.

@stnbch3025 For Liverpool yes. Did i say a billion ? No. We're losing a legendary manager the drop off will be huge. Liverpool have got away to an extent without spending as much as their rivals. That wont be the same without Klopp motivating players. The lure of players won't be as great with Slot. We don't pay the highest wages. I didn't say sign a mass of players but it would be important to be able to compete for some of the best players out there. We need best in class if we are to compete with United, Newcastle, Chelsea, Spurs, Villa, City, Arsenal for those champions league places. Under Klopp we were rejected still many times. Touchemeni, Bellingham and Caicedo to name a few. You think replacing Salah with a well scouted player from the Dutch league will cut it ?

@@andrewlane8949 Klopp already created a better team at Dortmund than whoever finished 3rd, 4th or even 2nd in the PL in the last 10 years. What he did at Liverpool was NO miracle, it was Klopp his quality.

Considering Liverpool’s net spend and frugal ways in buying players out of the bigger clubs, I think he is correct.

It will take a few seasons for Liverpool to compete again but we give managers time and hopeful slot can keep it going

Owners are LFC’s only guardrail from holding them back. If I were LFC I’d be excited about the new project. Klopp though prob my fav manager itw even as rival, was all balls to wall football. It would be interesting to see some balance every now & then from LFC side. LFC are well ran & will get good players. Ppl who think they fall off cliff I feel are wishful thinkers.

I don't really agree with Jamie, yes it's hard to follow Klopp but look at our keeper, back line and the academy players almost knocking down the door. Danns is a natural finisher, Conor could release Trent to midfield, Quansah is fantastic and Elliott like an old school Barca player! Really rate McAllister and Gakpo too, even Rooney and Sturridge think Nunez can be coached to finish better! YNWA
