Ive read some negative posts about jamie on this vid, i have to say i had the same view a few years back, im 60 now and got back into fishing 5 years ago after a good 20 year brake, these vids are a god send, we never had this opertunity to learn years back, the only option was to get out and learn by youre mistakes, lifes too short for that, learn from people who have already made the mistakes, well done to jamie, Andy and all the other top anglers who take the time to teach us the finer aspects of catching fish, weather youre a match angler or a pleasure angler the enjoyment of fishing is catching fish no matter what people say, that is the bottom line.

Unlike most fishing videos you showed us the float, this is the only thing that matters, well done. Interesting rigs but you were fishing in exceptionally calm conditions with no wind at all, this is a very rare occurrence. If it was windy you certainly couldn't have dotted the float right down like you did, you'd never see it in the waves, it'd be permanently submerged.

Thanks Jamie, one question. I've seen you before plumb up to the bottom of the body. Why did you plumb up to the middle of the body on this occasion? Thanks

Do you always fish away from silt wherever possible, hence on a small slope where it meets the silt ? Thanks

Might not be in this case, maybe someone can correct me, but some lakes are now putting a blue dye in the water that helps stop algae and weeds growing. Must filter the light in a way that stops them thriving.

I’ve heard a different reason. This is winter and there won’t be much algae or weed growth. I’ve been told it’s to reduce water clarity to protect the fish from cormorant predation. I don’t know this for a fact but it makes more sense to me.

Jamie & Andy are match fishermen, so give advice on match fishing. If you want advice on cooking go watch Jamie Oliver, advice on driving - Jeremy Clarkson..., etc.

Yo bro hate to be that guy but find a different channel to watch matey the choice was always your own if ur not into match fishing dont watch a match fishing channel make no sense to me and also these techniques can be applied for any type of fishing pleasure fishing match fishing we all love catching fish m8 why not improve your catch rate when fishing isnt free any more who wants to pay for a fishing day and catch nothing if that was the case to fishing to not catch who would even participate in the activity if there were no reward in other words m8 just move on

Yes, they are match fishermen. However, all the advice they give is all relevant to someone who goes pleasure fishing. You don't have to implement it to this level but you can tweak what you are doing. It might make the difference between blanking and banking a few

I'm a pleasure angler and a lot of what they teach can be applied to pleasure angling, that's why I watch these videos. Take and apply what suits your situation.

I have to agree, Hughes is a professional, full time match angler. It would disingenuous of him to promote videos on styles of fishing he doesnt do. There are many videos from non match anglers on youtube. Try 'Avon Angling' for example if you like rivers 😁.
