Jamestown settlement

This video shows the OTHER Jamestown attraction. Jamestown Settlement is a modern reproduction a mile or so away from the original Jamestown location simply known as "Historic Jamestown". This location is gear more towards school children and isn't located at the actual James Fort location. It shows re-enactments of life in 1607 at the Jamestown colony and has a number of hands on exhibits.

Virginian here. Jamestown is an exciting time in history; read Blood on the River (I read it within 7 hours) or Captain John Smiths' diaries. In grade school, Jamestown was a redundant topic, one I grew even to resent; however, as I have gotten older, It is one of my favorite topics! Thanks for the video!

Let me be the first to say thank you for this awesome video! As someone who is studying Jamestown (going there is on my bucket list,) I find this video fascinating. (Also, the smaller ships were probably Shallots, which accompanied bigger ships. I may be wrong, however.)

Glad it was helpful! . If you want to see the actual location of the original James Forte (Fort) I have a video on that one as well. They are very close together so I hope you can see both if you come out.

Thank you so much for this tour of the Jamestown replica. I have never had the opportunity of seeing this historic location, and little chance that I will ever seen it, but you provided me with a fine tour of what I would have seen. I have been to Plymouth Plantation and Sturbridge village but somehow missed this location as I lived in New England. As you mentioned about the heat and humidity, we were experiencing the same conditions here in the summer in Daejeon, South Korea. I can imagine it was not pleasant but heard few complaints as you journed through history. Thanks again, you did an excellent presentation for us on the other side of the earth!

Think the barrels were rope band then and for a couple hundred years after. Udda thought they woulda glued ropes over the barrel bands to hide them

One is the real one and the other is a reproduction showing how the buildings probably looked. If you go see one… go see the real one called Historic Jamestown.
