Because Boyd knows that a reality show would show any and all potential drama and will point out any deficiencies or issues with MLF and they are scared out of their mind of bad publicity because they know the product sucks and is going down the tube.

The guy who thinks his feelings matter more than the business. It’s very likely that it’s the same moron who runs a tournament trail, and fishes it for free as a competitor, because he knows damn well that if he actually had to qualify in any sort of way, he’d never fish another tournament at that level again.

@@tubbybuttfishingtennesseem8326 I'd like to see BASS go to the immediate release format. But overall all, Both tournaments are hurting from losing their marketshare to internet platforms. BASS saying their ratings jumped seems like they're including viewers on KZread livestreams now. I think it's more about BD's poor ethics than it is about their format. Tournament fishing just isn't as exciting or necessary for the average bass angler anymore, for entertainment or education. Another BIG TURN OFF TODAY is the tribal vitriol, specially the mean spirited gaslighting from the brigades of trolls harassing anyone that says they don't like how FFS has changed the experience and priorities in tournaments. the market will decide, and markets are always loyal to actual value over advertising or sponsors.

BP and GMAN, each paid MLF $30K to breach their contracts after a year. BP was top 10 in MLF AOY too when he left. You knew it was going to be a shit show when they did that.

I sold all 16 of my FBD rods after GMan bounced from MLF and every year since then I am more and more pleased that I made that decision….I will never ever support anything that individual is associated with EVER !!! FBD to the Bone ✊

I got my shirt in the mail yesterday and i don't live far from Duckett Marine.......it's tempting....

I feel whole heartedly that Boyd thought BASS would fold when the split took place. When this didn’t happen and BASS was able to take in some guys not as well know. Then keep going Boyd went hmmmmm. Now he is trying to build off of the lesser know guys that will allow him to put more money in his pocket. This is what all of this is about there is ZERO intention of growing anything other than Boyd’s bank account.

Watching this reminded me of a comment Scott Martin made when he decided to go to B.A.S.S. Said something along the lines of not liking the management or having a disagreement with them starting to see why

I live in central Texas, and we've had Bass and MLF events here on lake Travis a few years back. I was on the water fro both, if you wan to know how relevant a tour is, get on the water and look to see how many spectators there are. For the BASS event, there were no less than 10 boats on any one competitor. It was packed. For the MLF event, I was one of only 4-5 boats on any day during the event. I followed Wheeler for a while and never saw another spectator boat. I was close enough to Fletcher Shryok that we had conversation for 2 periods. There was nobody at the weigh in/ expo site. Bass, you couldn't find parking.

I was one week away from not having my job over the covid vaccine until the Supreme Court stepped in on the vaccine/test mandate. Not easy to find another 6 figure job. BPT guys seems to talk a lot of smack off the record when it all comes crashing down they’ll have no one to blame but themselves. And at this point I’ve lost repeat for every one of them for not speaking out when it mattered.

As said this isn’t a “don’t disrespect your employer” argument… these anglers would starve to death if they depended on winnings and money from the tour to live and Boyd couldn’t care less to help them which in return would benefit him. #FBD

Great podcast! One thing I’ve realized that has changed significantly over the years in business….you will be more successful if you work together with competition on growing and supporting the industry. Being cutthroat and in conflict on events and issues that impact the fishing industry hurts all businesses involved.

It was good to hear JWW's side, he will be fine, James has a great attitude!! FBD!

He was getting calls and texts on his phone. Which stops the video call audio for a second. We talked for an hour and forty minutes. Not “all” answers were not heard. Come on now.

Funny thing is that even though World Wide might have not made it through the cut for next year, is that Boyd's highest AOY finish in the history of the BPT is 65th. One of those seasons he was 78th place.. So how will he twist the rules to keep himself from being eliminated from the series next year? Imagine how good the BPT would be if the anglers actually had a lot on the organization like they were promised. Short answer is that everyone would want to be in it and a part of it..

As for the BFL's I quit them a few years ago because I don't like some of the format. When the BPT was at Douglas a few years ago I talked to Boyd about it rather matter of factly. He didn't like what I had to say but he listened and wasn't rude. He does need to step aside. Watson speaks the truth. It's always an on the edge of your seat when he's on this podcast.

Its been amazing to watch the MLF go from having caught lighting in bottle with MLF CUP events. They had everything they needed to be HUGE and they could not handle the heat. I don't know Mr. Duckett but sounds like he and whoever else is making decisions at MLF need to look up the definition of "Hubris" Pride comes before the fall.

“ FBD” 4-Life! I know people will say ya ya ya! I honestly had a bad feeling about the mass exodus when it happened. I felt like all the anglers were sold something that the ones pulling the strings knew it wasn’t going to play out like they said. If I had been one of those anglers I probably would have fallen for it too! One of the biggest things I remember is zero entry fees. It was supposed to bring the level of professional bass fishing up a level. I was so excited that dream of the level being brought up to more mainstream sports. As I said in the beginning I had a bad feeling about FBD and the others pulling the strings. It really burns my ass because I have taken a similar screw over in the industry I retired from. From what I have learned in life is some of these businessmen/snakes will screw over “ ANYONE “ that gets in their way to make money! It doesn’t matter if it’s their friend, brother or mother! What really makes you sick is the BS language they use to think they are tricky but in reality it’s right in your face but yet you already made the mistake of signing on the dotted line. You simply wouldn’t think someone would do that to you but yet they do and will for $$$$$$

The rods. I have some. The triads I have. The reel seats have let loose. The wheeler ducketts I have have no issue. Love Jacob’s rods but the white ones I have have went to hell in a hand basket within 3 years.

The classic is the best tournament in fishing. I follow a few anglers on the mlf tour and I can see how every event goes down. Bass on the other hand I love to watch live. Mlf doesn’t offer as much coverage in my opinion.

I live close to Guntersville. Can i have a big #FBD flag made and anchor out in the channel close to a big house and go fishing
