James Randi Interviewed by Scott Burdick

Here's an interview I did with James Randi at the 2016 Reason Rally with my friends Sue Kocher and Alan Howell.
For anyone interested in my irreverent sci-fi novels, here's a couple of links. Both are available in paperback, kindle, and on audible. Thanks to Space and Time magazine for the nice review of "Nihala," and to everyone who bought and reviewed them.

Wonderful interview Scott. Last i heard James wasn't in the best of health, I hope he remains with us for a few more years. This interview is a great testament to the man. Many thanks for the upload.

It is a very interesting interview for me. I am a skeptical. I am not an atheist. I respect James Randi and the wonderful work he has done and proven in the realm that there is no supernatural powers or abilities that we can find and prove to exist on Earth.

The importance of a James 'The Amazing' Randi work should not be underestimated.. To hear how Mr. Randi nursed a mockingbird back to health an interesting side-note. I'd love to hear a follow-up because a mockingbird may not be able to say "thank you" they have one of the most beautiful voices in the entire animal kingdom. Hope the mockingbird sticks around (but migratory - so hope comes back..) : )! PS - mealworms are a favorite..

Religion has been a source of trauma for me. This is why I admire James Randi. I'd like to see more videos like this one.

James Randi was a truly amazing human being. Intelligent, talented, funny, and had integrity of the highest order. The world would be a better place if we were all like James Randi.

Hi Scott, I've been a randict, let's say a man filled with curiosity, for years. Could You please tell him there's is a major flow in the resurrection as told by the 4 chosen books. How come Longinus pierces the Savior's chest to check if he is dead and then the blood flows and then he concludes he is dead ? This is not consistent with any basic NCIS post-mortem conclusion. Let's check that quick before we do have to chase him up there. Best regards,

The chest was pierced to see if there was a reaction ,and when there wasn't they realized that Jesus was dead and there was no need to break his bones

Know what I hate on youtube no matter what the topic is? Is when the person posting the video disables comments ...I have ZERO as in NONE respect for ANYONE that disables comments ...I will typically immediately click thumbs down and then look for places to dis the person FOR such thing ...this James Randi posted an anti Bible video which is fine but what is NOT fine is that he disabled the comments preventing the offering of other ideas and opinions I applaud the poster of this video for not disabling comments

No respect for anyone who disables comments. And look for places to dis that person for disabling comments - oh my, you really are an asshole. If it doesn´t take more than that for you to have zero respect for someone, well, then I´m sorry, but then you´re not only an asshole but a dick as well. It haven´t occurred to you that comments have been disabled for good reasons. Such as hate speech, too much personal attacks in the comment´s section, that could ruin the intended discussion the person who put up the video had hoped to see.. That´s just a couple of examples, but it´s easy to think of more, and you should have thought of that before you posted your idiotic statement.

I can assure everyone that there is no Sky daddy and if there is a higher dimension one can upload themselves it requires no God. I am a student of computer science and will publish scientific findings for a self aware universe in 20 year so it can be optimal for peer review.

A beautiful man. Yeah - and suspect the same thing was said about Hitler! Victor zammit had him worked out to a T. Closed minded little atheist. Who had it in for EVERYONE on the paranormal side of things -natural healing was another! I would have swapped laxatives with the tablets he downed at that little lecture he had with the rest of the closed minded little atheists and watched the fun develop. It wasn't me who was told to p-off on an Australian TV show back in the day, because Ron had had enough of his b.s.! I thank God l was born with an open mind, and it serves me well.
