The real attraction when it comes to James isn't that he's super fucking HOTT, but that he's a genuine person (something that is incredibly obvious through his interviews, interactions with co-stars, and his co-stars' opinions of him). He's very modest about his talent and very charming. Of course, it doesn't hurt that he is very attractive but in the approachable way. He just puts everyone around him at ease.

watch this, then watch a current 2013 interview with him. This man has not changed. He's more succesful now, well known and loved and it didn't change this man at all. James, however you do that, other actors should learn from you.

I love how near the end at like 3:25 percisely he realised that he'd talked too much or she wasn't getting enough spotlight so quieted down a bit let her answer the next question. He's such a sweetheart may not have the typical hollywood goodlooks but he's uniqe his own way. Bless his heart.

Mine too! He deserved an Oscar for Atonement.

Too bad more actors aren't more like him, attitude wise. He's so humble.

FYI, he is frequently described as a "gentleman" and a "lovely man" by many of the people he works with...not just actors. And when members of the crew give you compliments...it's real. There's nothing in it for them. I like James when he's James, not when he's a cut out of what someone else wants him to be. Thank goodness he knows who he is. It would seeem that most of the film going public have no clue.

Rough and unfaithful? He has this bounce with EVERYONE. I've seen it in action in front of me. That's part of what makes him so lovely to listen to and, if you're lucky enough, to talk to. Also, this is an interview. While James can be twee and proper, like Tumnus, he has the right to be himself in interviews don't you think? Sometimes he's playful. Sometime's he's serious. He is always interesting.
