I really enjoyed this video. James Mason was before my time but I discovered him in film and never really knew much about him. Stars were real stars then - wildly talented yet mysterious, not like the celebrities of today.

What a wonderful video. I was aware that this was not James Masons original house as Sam Neill, my favourite Actor, was an under study of James Mason and lived with him and his Wife for a short while, finding acting work in the UK and Europe . He described it in an interview i saw him in.

Odd man out 1947 was fantastic, i saw it when i was 12 y old, and Mason was my fav actor from there on. I was surprised he stayed friends with dificult genius Stanley Kubrick, one of the few.

I hope the beautiful Redwood tree stays and if anything has to go it's the ugly house built without any foresight. Pity there wasn't a photo of James's house for comparison. I especially liked the walk in the vineyards. Thanks for the interesting upload.

its a shame how his career went after fighting the studios to get out of is longterm contract in hollywood he was blacklisted and ended up following his pal charlie chaplin to switzerland where he would accept many unworthy t v and movies because he needed money him and charlie where hounded out of america ,pity he was as good as burton at his peak. great as usual L T
