I was reading this thread on Reddit about how he’s likely super paranoid leaving his reactive dog, which is understandable. He feels like Hippie has been taken away from him already once, so not being able to leave him with someone he trusts is freaking him out. I can get that. I don’t know how sustainable living like that is though.

Yes but it is so frustrating when people compare babies to animals like he can make his point on not wanting a different dog sitter but as a mom & an animal lover, there is no way on this planet green earth that anyone will actually convince me that being afraid to loosing their dog will equate to afraid to loosing a child & offcourse he’s NOT a father yet so that’s why he’s making that ignorant comparison but wait until he is, he will forget about that dog and nothing else will matter but the safety of that little angel.

She has a lot of dog sitters. He’s trying to find one but hippie also has a history of fighting and because of Rachel people assume the dog is dangerous and needs to be put down so he scared to leave it with somebody without knowing the dogs going to like them and they can handle his dog and aren’t going to be acting like his dog is a tear or making his dog feel Worse.

I totally understand where James is coming from

I felt James heart and sincere concern for the well-being of his dog. The bond he has with Hippie is very obvious and shows how tender hearted he is at his core. I wanted to hug him watching this especially with everyone ganging up on him. He just needs time to help Hippie feel safe and stable.

It's a helpless dog and very attached to him so I can understand where he's coming from.

I really felt for and understood James during this moment, having just lost my dog I will never get over that heartbreak. When you have such a close bond, they mean everything to you. All you want to do is make sure they are safe and that you've done the right thing. In James' situation he was likely very fearful of leaving him because of his possible reactive nature + he already had so much anxiety/ trauma from the last time.

Completely agree! I am so sorry for your loss. I just lost my 16 year old dog and adjusting to life without him is hard. Luckily, I did everything I could to ensure that he was comfortable throughout his 16 years. I would never put him in precarious situations. If I did, I would never forgive myself and I think James is coming from a similar mindset.

I agree. I lost my dog of 12 years, it is the hardest thing hands down I’ve ever been through. The loss of my dog changed my life and I still feel a void every single day. I didn’t trust anyone but one of my ex boyfriends to watch her when I had to go away. It was because I saw how he loved my dog the same way I did, he would protect her from any danger at all costs. It’s constant fear and anxiety when leaving something you love behind and you think of every worst case scenario. My heart is with James, you can see how much he loves his dog and is most likely reliving how painful it was without his dog.

I understand James 100% here when I go away he either stays with my parents or a couple I know, if no one could have him I wouldn't go but that's because of the experience I had when I put him into someone's care when I went away and when I picked him up he was wet, cold, covered in fleas and genuinely just terrified. This was 4 years ago and I've never forgiven myself

And his dog ended up in a shelter, almost lost forever, because his ex decided she wasn’t gonna deal with him anymore just dropped him off and didn’t even give James a chance to take him.

@ashivaanozie3434 it was a kennels, around 7 months later they were shut down because they gave a tour of where your dog would stay but they actually just left them outside in metal build shelters. Now he stays at a farm kennels where they have their own heated areas, individual outdoor patio areas and get let outside into the farm 4 times a day for an hour each time PLUS they send you daily videos and pictures 🥰 he LOVES going there

Although I understand his reasons for not going and agree with him, the idea that girlfriend vs wife is super antiquated. Not everyone wants to get married, there are a lot of drawbacks legally to be honest, unless religious people may not feel compelled to go through a ceremony to tie yourself to someone legally, and a wedding ring does not make someone more or less faithful or committed to someone.

I was waiting for someone to bring up how out of line these girls are. First- it’s none of their business. Beyond that, he know what is best for the welfare of his dog. Ali is a grown woman and can go to a wedding alone. Yes. She may be disappointed but I think James is putting the welfare of a dog before a social event.

Could you imagine the dog freaks out and then needs to be put down by order of the city? JAMES AND ALLY WOULD NEVER RECOVER ALL OVER A WEDDING WE DIDNT NEED TO ATTEND.

James is 💯right. I almost cried for him and Hippie in this scene. I would never leave my reactive dog who is still working out his behavioral issues w just anyone. There are very few people you can rely on and trust w your dog who has these problems bc people don’t know how to handle a traumatized dog or deal w the behavioral issues when they prop up. Poor Hippie is still traumatized after everything he went through and acting out his trauma. You can’t leave a dog w trauma and behavioral issues for just any person to dog sit. That’d be a potential nightmare situation if anything were to go wrong and you weren’t there to stop it and comfort and ease your dog. James is being a responsible dog dad here. I absolutely agree w him and understand his fears. They’re valid. It will take time for Hippie to settle and Hippie should not be away from James if his trusted brother Harry isn’t there to watch over Hippie. There’s few people who know how to deal w the needs of a dog w reactive and behavioral problems. Anything could happen while they are away and the consequences could be bad for the dog.

I get it I have 2 small dogs I wouldn’t trust with anyone. Our pets are such a big part of lives we only want the best for them. Sometimes we have to be creative and make sacrifices for our 4 legged family members.

Typical Lala making James understandable fears about leaving his dog who almost died in a kill shelter alone just to bring up she has it harder being a mother.

James owes it to his Dog to stay home and take of him and not leave him alone. He's learning

Before Scandoval broke, she froze her eggs and wanted Tom to fertilize them w his sperm so they could be more viable as embryos instead of just eggs. I knew James loved that baby 🐶 Since season 7 or 8 he was crying over Graham/Pippy and he begged Raquel for visitation when they broke up. Also this is a reason why you shouldn't date someone so young. Ally is too immature to understand why James feels this way. Ally doesn't have life's cruel experiences yet. I hope James stands his ground and stays home with doggy until hes comfortable.

He was abandoned to a shelter by Rachels family and by luck he was reunited with him. The dog has been labled aggressive by Rachel repeatedly on TV and tbh she really did not treat that dog well at all. It makes absolute sense that James would be fearful of leaving the dog with someone he is not super close with. He is afraid he will lose his dog again.

Okay seriously though I also have pets but it's just a damn dog. I'm sure there are other people that you trust to take care of it. Bring it with you and say it's a service dog. Then you only need someone to watch it during the wedding
