James Everingham - Reverie

Музыка

I wrote Reverie when I was 17, and that first version was uploaded to Soundcloud (RIP) back in May 2015. Over the past 9 years I’ve written thousands of new pieces of music for film and TV, but my earliest, cheesiest melodies always stuck with me. Maybe it was nostalgia and memories of a simpler time, making music in my bedroom back home with zero pressure or looming deadlines. Whatever it was, in early 2020 I decided I wanted to revisit some of older those tunes with my newfound skills and the talented people around me in Los Angeles.
I've seen some people express their distaste for these new versions and go so far as to say they're ‘not you anymore’. While I can assure that they are in fact ‘me’, the sentiment is justified. There’s something very intangible about our personal connections to particular pieces of music, and if you’re someone that connected more with the original versions, they’re still around online - send me an email if you want the files.
The album artwork is by the incredible artist Julien Missaire, and was created entirely in 3D software. I spent a long time looking for an image that felt as striking and as filmic as what I’d set out to capture with this music, and fell in love with this one as soon as I saw it.

It's insane that you wrote this at age 17. This is some of the most beautiful music I ever heard ever. I remember the moment I first heard it walking around at night and having my jaw drop at how incredible this was. This truly is another level. I have loved all your music since I first heard it 3 years ago. Keep it up!

This is incredible, loved the background to it. What music software did you use to create this music? Ive been looking at cakewalk and cubase but people tend to use those for beats and synths
