Yeah...I stopped watching American Idol after James Durbin lost....Definitely he shouldve won that night! That is and still is my favorite American Idol performance!!

That's also when I stopped watching AI.

After watching the American Idol finale last night, I had to watch this video again. James, I'm just a normal child of the 70s, who's now a grandmother. And I want to tell you that this rendition of Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow was my favorite performance of the ENTIRE 15 years of Idol. Thank you, and hope to see you on the East Coast sometime...

StillMe A stellar performance that probably deserved a Standing Ovation. However, Haley provided most of the real highlights of the season. She was far more versatile and brilliant in so many different genres. She should have won. However, I'd certainly place James above Scotty and Lauren - 2nd, or perhaps 3rd to Casey.

I'm an aging rocker who grew up on rocknroll in the 50s, 60s and 70s. Had never watched American Idol until late night youtubing brought me Adam Lambert last year. This year it brought me you. This is the best rendition of this song I've ever heard, even better than Carole King. Hope you tour up Seattle way sometime.

I listen this version of that awesome song many times! His performance was spectacular!!!

Glad he didn't! The AI contract is awful. Phillip Phillips had to sue to get out of it. James is still doing great on his own!

He was my favorite that year,! He has phenomenal range!

Every single note he hits is his sweet spot. If he didn’t get a record deal, than there are no legitimate talent scouts out there.

I'd love to see/hear a duet, James and Adam Lambert, that would be heaven.

I'm kind of a motown purist and it's hard, really hard, to get me to appreciate any cover or alteration of the originals. This performance is amazing. The Shirelles would be proud of him. Fantastic!

Listening to this AMAZING performance - the best version of this Carole King masterpiece - in 2020, and I still get goosebumps. You slayed this, James.... wherever you are I hope you are blessed.

OMG....James...I saw you perform this and actuallly had tears in my eyes. You did one helluva job with this song.....I like listening to it quite frequently...

Still my favorite james durbin performance along with uprising. In these two performances, he didn't sound like he was trying to be a rockstar and he sounded natural. And in this performance, you can see his mature side and melodramatic side. I feel like this is the true james durbin.

Watching as another season of American Idol starts in 2021 and browsing some of my favorite performances through the years. This one sure qualifies.

blows me away everytime i hear / play this. this kid was my neighbor and i didn't even know him. he is blessed and i hope he has a great life and his family of course.

I listened to this song as a kid and loved it but this version is by far the best version EVER!

This is still in my opinion top 3 American idol seasons of all time

so my friends says, in like 07 'there's this kid playing up in the mountains (which were 10 mins from home. you have to go see him...but no..i was actually too depressed...well I saw him on Idol. holy crap ! don't get no better than that. he is a beautiful person with a close family...awesome voice...blows my mind when I hear him sing like this...you should hear when he sing the national anthem a long time ago at santa cruz high school before a game...he was GREAT back then...man oh man...

I've seen Adam live front Queen he's good, but for me James is the better, his voice has a rawness to it I love.

For the sheer number of outstanding performances, and also diversity of genres, Haley really deserved to be put even above James, brilliant though he was at times, and you don't even mention her. I would have put James above Scotty and Lauren though.

James is an amazing singer, now it's 2021, watched this when on Idol 11 years ago! Wish he would have kept covering great songs like this, but instead chose to do his own heavy metal songs with his own band, which I'm not into. Received his first cd as a gift, but his band's hard core music overtook his amazng voice, couldn't even understand or hear what he was singing, a shame. Can't help but think if he'd stayed doing mainstream music, great songs like this one, he would have made it big, so I come here on you tube and listen to him when he was on Idol.

james was not voted american idol because of his disabilities.....which should have been one of the reasons he won....overcoming these and being absolutely the most talented person they have EVER had on this show.....you know there was predjudice behind his losing and it wasn't the audience...we Loved Him...it was the producers....it wasn.t the squeaky clean,blue eyedgoody good boy fronting the American Idol definition........think about it...
