We also held a Q&A video when this Corona deal started you might enjoy. Thanks for asking... I hope you enjoy which ever interview you happen to watch... sincerely, Joe

I hoped James would have discussed recording & performing with the Hot Band with EmmyLou Harris. They could spend another half hour discussing the years with her.

Hi Ray.... I have talked to James about the Hot Band which he loved. I’ll see if I can find a clip from another interview with James about Emmylou and the Hot Band. If not I think I may do some more with James soon and I’ll make sure we cover it well. Best, Joe

@@MusiciansHallofFameMuseum Thank you, The Hot Band defined Emmylou's sound on her early records. James' memories of that time are fascinating history. Rodney Crowell can also share his memories of the Hot Band..

Yes...I bought and placed on exhibit inside the museum the moble studio “The Enactron Studio” that her producer/husband Brian Ahern built that most all of her hits were recorded in. A couple of years ago we had a function honoring Brian at the museum. Emmylou got most of the Hot Band together and played here at the museum. Rodney was here too but was ill at the time and didn’t perform but did speak. Best..... Joe

I have always thought James finest work was done on those Ricky Nelson records! It always seemed to me he was held back a little on the Elvis stuff. All those GREAT hits and solos Travlin man, Hello Mary Lou, Fools rush in, Believe what you say , Its up to you,and more, such memorable solos.!

There is still a lot of truth to that. Play the bass if you want to work. Play the guitar to learn more about guitar. Good guitar players have been a dime a dozen since moby dick was a minnow. Even an average bass player will get a lot of calls if they put their name out there.

Ask James “how many times have you eaten at Herby K’s ?” Lol. Answer: “ oh millions..” On a side note. There is a great interview with one of Ozzie’s boys. He talks about James staying with them. And how great a person his dad was. And what an inspiration James was to his playing.
