A lot of the dancers explained that the famous guest would usually be looking for certain dancers because they had been watching the show just like everyone else and admired how the danced and wanted specific dancers included in their shows. The dancers admitted the didn’t get paid money but had so many opportunities just being seen on the show it was worth it. So I’m sure James knew who she was already and was happy to groove with Damita Jo!

James realized at the beginning when Damita came up onto the stage that she could dance, and therefore, he didn't have to break a sweat for that gig. He just had to sing and enjoy the woman's moves. Pretty much every other performance by James required a shower, a fresh change of clothes, and a trip to the dry cleaners. James wasn't dumb...

i notice her danceing yrs ago while he was filming on stage
They said that James was extremely strict on his band, he would fine them if they were late, off key etc, that’s why it’s pure perfection in the sound; they had to be super on point.
now that girl can dance--to me, most people look stupid but she has the moves for sure!! and jb aint bad either........

Right. I like watching dancers, but sometimes I can’t help but think the moves are silly, but everything about her and her dancing was always great to me. She really expressed the music with her moves if that makes sense

Just like Michael, not one wasted move AND.perfection to boot! Amazing as she amazed the King and didn't even have to "Get On The Goodfoot!!". And later in her career, after "pumping up" she does that impossible "split" even with that incredible muscularity. Can I get a witness! Amen!
