James Brown performing "It's A Man's Man's Man's World" Live at The L'Olympia, Paris - November 25, 1967!
No one had the feelin' quite like James Brown did. From his early start singing in a prison gospel group, to his transformation into "Soul Brother No. 1" in the late 1960s, to ultimately claiming the title of "The Godfather Of Soul," James had the feelin'. And it was so real and so powerful that it jumped the color barrier and grabbed hold of black and white audiences alike.

I could remember my Dad playing this song over and over once a week after a hard day work and my Mother wouldn't like it, and also play it after they had an argument My Dad who pass away due to Throat Cancer back on 2011 at the age of 75 and a former Marine...this is for you Dad; I miss you.

It’s that smooth ass walk up to the mic then he let that gospel cry out…mannn that set the tone
I can feel my soul and my body vibrates from head to toe with this song and I’m not from this song era.
Priceless! No words can describe the connection this man had with the lyrics and the instruments. Ive never felt such a harmonious complementary exchange of energy through the magic of music. James Brown you were a gift to this magnificent art that is called MUSIC.

He fined his band members $50.00 each if they screwed up. $50.00 was a lot of money back then hence the reason why they were one of the tightest bands on earth then.

WOW! 60's golden age of music, any, every type.
This song says everything that can be said how important a man’s relationship to a woman is and how valuable men are to women! Together they can raise families, make lives beautiful and carry on our DNA to the future, without this we will become extinct!
This performance changed my life.
It’s so sad and so beautiful at the same time
When I heard the news The Godfather had died, it was really hard to believe. Such a talented man. His music brought so much joy to my life. RIP my brother James

I had the chance to see him live 6 months before... Of course it was not the young one anymore, but growing in the 80's in France, I would have never hoped to see "the guy from sex machine" once in my life. And I was lucky enough to share that gig with a really good friend of mine we both love JB, it was GREAT.

Wouldn't surprise me at all, if 500 years from now people from that time, still listening to this Man's music! Many great music artists, but just a handful will remain in the world's music stage, and this Man will be one in that handful.
This gives me chills, how connected he was to The lyrics and band! Perfect
The whole band was phenomenal, but the drummer was on the money with every move James Brown made. Hell of a job.

@@--jxj__ I feel that exact way about it sometimes, too. That’s why having the lyrics still ring true in such a popular, and yes, soulful song I also respect from an artist’s point of view. That’s not to say the man himself was a man to aspire to be, besides his music. He may be for some… But this song can also be used as a HUGE reminder that the world is nothing without women as well. Though I understand the perspective you choose to see the lyrics from. We all get an opinion.
I am throwing my hands 🙌 up in the air about the truth of these lyrics and the soul wrenching raw physical truth of his performance that is obviously heart felt!!! I got to see him in 1984 at “ The Ritz “ in Manhattan !!!! I was extremely thrilled to get to see him perform live !!!!! I was a young fan since hearing the silly yet fun song of his called “ I’ve got ants in my pants and I need to dance “ !!!!! I was 9 years old and yes that song absolutely made people across the country want to dance!!!! Yet this song is as deep as the ocean 🌊 about Man and Woman and history!!!! Man and woman’s eternal physical need for each other !!!!!!!!! ❤❤❤❤❤Love 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
this is one of my favorite performances of all time!
This is one of the greatest live performance 🔥🔥🔥
