Very true. While I'm not a fan of his music, I think he is a fantastic person. He has that classic British trait of taking the piss out of ourselves, just as much as we do with each other. Sarcasm is rife here and I absolutely love that it's an integral part of our society.

I love James Blunt. However, to everyone commenting on the interviewer, grow up. He's being insanely polite, and fairly confident all things considering. The reason he's "boring" is because his role is to ask questions and wait on answers, he's not the one everyone is there to see, and he isn't trying to make that the case.

I can't see any negative comments on the interviewer. His questioning is poor though, just asks the next question on the card rather than building on the previous answer

I've always like his music, but now the guy. He is very smart. And extremely quick witted. All while being his true self. The passion in his songs are evident in his responses about war and the life of a soldier. I thoroughly enjoyed watching this interview and his interactions with the audience. Well done sir.

He is so witty and intelligent! He is nerdy as well, he doesn't sound like a musician at all when he is not singing. He is so blunt when he talks!

Love his sense of humour. He always puts himself down, yet is clearly extremely intelligent.

This guy is awsome!! He is a great singer and very smart. I always learn something with him. Congratulations to Oxford Union!

He's self deprecating and funny. What a breath of fresh air in the entertainment industry! I love how he can get in front of all these stuffy Oxford bods and just start talking in his hilarious usual way.

As an ex-squaddie, I have an immense respect for Capt. Blount. He's a very grounded, down to earth bloke who speaks of the reality of being a soldier.

Same my eldest brother served with him household calvary blues and royals and greatest respect for him, I wanted to serve but I have autism adhd and other medical conditions but I was proud of the fact I completed 14 weeks basic training at pirbright ADSC and Training Centre phase 1 soldier training sadly though I could not continue was medically discharged before phase 2 but I am now 24 nearly and at college for disabilities I also have a NVQ2 in health and social care i worked in a care home for elderly people after army training and then i had mental health due to family tragedy but I'm now a registered volunteer for Help for Heroes and proud of it and I do my asdan stuff and get support from my day centre

This is actually truly great. I've always admired him and what he's done in life. He willed this career into being.

A great character and soul! And a fantastic artist and musician! Fully deserved, Dr. Blunt!

NO BRAVERY is one of my favorite songs, to bad he thinks nobody knows it.. Love this guy.

I love it, it's one of my all time favourite songs.

One has to have admiration for an English Gentleman who puts an honest point across.

I love this guy!!!! what a funny, smart, beautiful man! and his music is pure magic!

I could listen this British accent for years!

He seems so friendly, and love his sense of humour

James is so bright and talented.

What a wonderful humble man Who has written amazing songs And without doubt the Saddest song I've ever heard.. Take care james

James Blunt is impressive. Grounded, intelligent, articulate and witty to boot. Not just a pretty faced musician. Oxford probably disappointed him with all the fawning though.

My eldest brother served with James Blunt in the Blues and Royals Bosnia and Kosovo's and my brother was a senior NCO SGT and he said even though James Blunt was a senior officer he was treated and wanted to be treated as equal regardless of ranks or position he was made fun of but he was and is a respected humble and ordinary man who served his country and then bravely decided to write and sing his songs one of which actually depicts some of his emotions and experience in the military it's called "Carry You Home"

Seems a genuinely decent guy. Respect.

What a great interview.. I thoroughly enjoyed listening to this!

The first 15mins had me howling with laughter and so unexpected in such a serious arena, Very enjoyable and endearing. Great channel

Why isn't this getting more attention. Just when I though Dr.Blunt was amazing. HE STOPS A WAR! Gives me such confidence to achieve my future

James Blunt is so wonderfully Self deprecating, his take on what it means to be a soldier is spot on in Man y ways.

I had no idea his family had to do with Denmark. As a Danish James Blunt fan, I think that's awesome.

Great guy - generous and so humble - underestimated . Saw him live in Berlin in February fantastic .

Best relaxed interview I've watched with James. Comes across as a genuine nice guy, intelligent, wicked sense of humour and of course writes songs that I gladly spend money on. Oxford-great job!

Yeah definitely! The interviewer and everyone in the audience seemed like complete morons in comparison to the great James blunt! The interviewer asked a few smart questions but everyone else just sat there like a dumb dog

Great interview. Honest and open. Raw, he is what he is and that's that. Great stuff.

What a nice guy, and what a 'dead' audience! All locked in separate bubbles... they struggle to get on his level. I think he does very well to overcome their reticence and, to be honest, relative dullness.

Never been fan of his music, but his interviews are amazing.

James wipes the floor with the Alan Partridige like interviewer and he isn't even aware of it. I have to say, there have been some very impressive and accomplished guests invited to speak at the Union, but Mr Blunt's is by far the best I have seen. James is one smart cookie!

What an interesting, self-deprecating and erudite man. I bemoan the fact that television interviews of interesting people are nothing like they were in the past with interviewers such as Michael Parkinson. We miss so much these days from people who can have worthwhile things to say. James' comments about dark humour helping you through difficult times are true. The same awful humour existed when I was a Police Officer. I enjoy the fact that his humour is often based upon irony and quite often not picked up by his audience. Some good questions too from the audience. I will be looking at more of these Q&A sessions with the Oxford Union.
