We need to remind EVERYONE to reach out if they’re in a dark place. I know how hard it is to reach out, but we all need to normalise asking for and accepting help.
As a war veteran…it hits close to home for the 22 vets we loose everyday. Had they only called someone and had someone been there for them. Thank you

6 yrs ago in august I Iost my father to suicide ive never been served so many emotions and feelings I wasn't prepared to stomach at one time in my life, I was weak all over. He was truly my best friend. James you always have a way of conveying the message to those that need to hear it most. You have always been one of my top favorites if you ever come to pittsburgh, pa ill be there.
Thank you James! This song hits home as my sister committed Suicide 2 years ago and she never asked for Help. She always showed how strong she was. She left behind her 2 beautiful kids and a husband. My brother and sister are just devastated. Thank you for this song! We all wish she would've reached out!❤😢

Missdreamer, I don’t know what you are going through right now because you are the only one who knows the depth of your pain. I was in a very dark place and sui3idal years ago. I was tired of trying and couldn’t see a way out. I’m here today because of a voice in the backseat of my car yelled NO! I swerved away from the concrete pylon and when I got control of the car I parked on the side of the interstate and cried. I believe that was an angel. I called my doctor and got help for the first time. It was hard, but I faced my demons and took my life back. I still have a dark side, but I understand that it doesn’t have power over me unless I let it. Please don’t give up. There are good things and people in this world that are worth fighting for. You are worth fighting for! Even if you can’t see the light, it is still there and you will find joy and love are real and you deserve to live your life with them. Please reach out for help, and do that over and over until you find your angel that will guide you through this difficult time. I have faith in you. I’m praying for you too. I’m sending you love and strength from my heart to yours. ❤❤❤Brenda

Thank you Mr Blunt this is a beautiful song. I realise it is about your friend Carrie Fisher but it applies to so many out here. My brother committed suicide in Nov 2003. All my life well since about age 11. I have suffered with depression and other mental health issues. Dark thoughts are terrible in that moment you truly believe that nobody cares, no one will miss you and the black hole opens up and consumes you to the point you can't reach out, won't reach out because you are truly convinced nobody would care. If you are really lucky light will shine for a brief moment enough to bring you back and get help sadly for my brother that wasn't the case. For myself the two times dark thoughts/black hole over took me I did get that light and had the strength to briefy call for help and I am still here. I just want you and people like you affected by this we didn't mean to hurt you we just genuinely believed in that moment nobody would care and I am sorry
This song brings tears to my eyes, because it will be what they will say after I’m gone. Hate being depressed and darkness in my head.
