James Blake is so genuinely self-aware and humble for an artist of his stature, makes for a very good interviewing experience

Completely agree. He's been on a bit of a "press run" for this release, but it's so interesting to listen to all of them, especially when he starts to overthink/explain and go beyond the music and into everything else

Is he really aware? He seems to have no answer for every questions...
Its amazing how James can change his sound so much. Listening to this album, then his earlier song "You're Beautiful", its like 2 different artists

I find it somehow so wonderful that this man has produced some incredibly popular tracks for some very very famous mainstream artists and yet his own albums continues to be so innovative and intriguing. I really feel that James Blake is a very special, once in a generation type artist, not to mention he comes across as a genuine gem of a person.
Friends That Break Your Heart was such a phenomenal break from the norm for James Blake. Fantastic album. At the same time, you can tell that Playing Robots into Heaven was an excellent return to form. You could tell it was the "hobby" album. And it was a great ride. Whatever he decides to do next, hopefully he finds happiness in it. We'll be there to listen!

Anthony, regarding our phone conversation earlier... I think it's perfectly fine to grow lettuce next to tomatoes. Just keep in mind, head and romaine types mature about 70 days from seed; leaf types matures in about 40 days. Leaf lettuce and mesclun will regrow if just the leaves are harvested. Water and harvest again a few weeks later. For best flavor, pick in the early morning, rinse and eat fresh, or refrigerate immediately. Aight, stay safe my cutie patootie

Great interview. There are few artists whose lyrics, melodies and vocals have broken my heart as beautifully as James Blake’s. It’s so interesting to hear him allude to songwriting being less innate for him when the results are as magnificent as they are.
I can't wait to hear Tell Me live! So excited for the tour, already bought tickets for a show in Tilburg ❤
So excited to see James live next week in Brussels!!
Ad Astra was great, but the soundtrack from James Blake himself would elevate the movie for sure. I hope James will write more music for the movies, because he's as good as Ludwig Göransson (Childish Gambino's producer and he composed music for Oppenheimer and Tenet)
Great interview, listened to James Blake for over a decade was a huge fan of his early more electronic focused stuff - this was super interesting to hear his process of coming back to that sound 🙏🏼

Hopefully you mean of the current generation, you do know Herbie Hancock and Stevie Wonder are still alive don't you and suppose them artists with 5 decade long careers don't release new music. Haven't watched it yet but if they don't bring up how you can't stream the Klavierwerke, CMYK or 200 Press EP I will commit Big Hammer on myself E: where can I buy a hammer that is big Ok I know I'm just desperate and that it probably just is a record label issue or something, but they talked about both the EPs as a reference to the new album and streaming being important in today's industry
