The use of the Who Wants to be a Millionaire soundtrack in this movie is so brilliant. Also I love how the host now truly knows it wasnt cheating cause he just bullshitted the last answer cause he didnt care if he won or not. Knowing that Latika is safe was worth more than the prize money

Undoubtedly, one of the greatest moments in cinematic history.

The question they chose was really clever; "D'artagnan" is the most famous of all the names listed, so anyone who DIDN't read "The Three Musketeers" (myself included) would assume that D'artagnan is the correct answer and, therefore, that Jamal had lost. I know they got me with that twist!

So D’artagnan isn’t any of the musketeers names? They listed all three names so Where is that name from then? I know it too but it’s bc my roommate claimed his name came from that story 3 musketeers

To be honest, I haven't completely watched "Slumdog Millionaire" when I was 8 years old in 2009 (if only I remember correctly) but this scene left a long-lasting impact on how I see my own future! 😭

I don’t know if this was intentional, but notice how Jamal looks up as his brother died signifying him going up to heaven

They weren’t religious though or they were Muslims because in the original scene it showed their hometown being burned down by Hindus. muslims have 7 levels of heaven so that would also technically also be inaccurate.

I cried so much which this film. It is a true masterpiece both the story and the message. Amazing !

Now he knows the 3rd musketeer.

Probably one of the best movies I've ever seen in a long time. Next to german submarine movie Das Boot.

It is good really good but overall I still prefer Shawshank Redemption

What a magnificent movie. I’ll never forget the first time I saw this in the packed out cinema and everyone left saying it was one of the best they’d seen in years

Dev Patel was in his element in this role ❤️

I don’t know who did the theme/soundtruck for Who wants to be milionarie but it’s soooo fucking intense. The scene is already intense, but with that music is terrifying. Excellent movie

Seeing that Jamal was on the show he knew he was on there for Latika. All them years he seen how much his brother loved her and how miserable she was without him. Seeing his brother still after all that time still pursuing her think might've tugged his heart. Let's remember he loved his brother.. He just chose the money over him and once he seen that the money meant nothing to Jamal but the love I think that was an eye opener for him.

Was the game of "Who Wants To Be A Millionaire" rigged throughout the entire film? I keep wondering that, since I first saw this movie.

I believe the host told him the correct answer before the final question but it turned out to be a false answer. The host and the show tried to make sure that he would not win because of who he is as a slumdog. But he shocked everyone and answered the correct answer. That is what I remembered.

Is this real, or was it something that Hollywood added in about his brother!

It was 500k if you adjust for it being in 2007 still not an insane amount but can set you up for a nice life if you use it properly.
