I was on a dive boat with the crew for a week. I stayed on it to fix my equipment and two Jamaican mates where bitching about their boss in Patois, that much I understood. When i finished I told them casually a memorized phrase that meant "I'm hungry I think I'll go eat at the restaurant today" in Patois. When they heard me they completely flipped, they saw that I had understood everything they had said. They laughed so much the could hardly breathe when I told them it was a joke. I was 500 yard from the boat and I could still hear them laugh.

Please note tho tht road side gyal doesnt necessarily mean bitch but i cant find a better word to describe it so tht youll understand (ps i live on an island in the caribbean where our dialect is very similar to tht of jamaicans)
