JAMAICA VLOG. Why I live in Jamaica. 10 Reasons I love Jamaica.

I moved to Jamaica in 2014 and it exceeded all my expectations. With this Jamaica VLOG I'd like to share my 10 reasons why I live in Jamaica.
What if you could choose to live in any country in the world? What country would you choose? I personally chose Jamaica.
When people find out- they usually go, WHAT?? WHY??? And that includes Jamaican people too, they don't understand and get suspicious, like: "what is your interest in Jamaica?". So, I've decided to film this Jamaica VLOG to explain WHY Jamaica and give you the exact 10 reasons I love Jamaica.
Below you will also find the full list of criteria I used when choosing a country to relocate. This is a list of the reasons why you should move to Jamaica:
1. Climate
2. Ocean
3. Ecology
4. Health
5. People
6. Safety
7. Women's Rights
8. Language (English)
9. Business Opportunities
10. Freedom

I also moved to Jamaica. I fell in love with her in 1975. I was born on the wrong island coming from Scotland. After many years of life in the cold of Canada I moved to where my heart is. Cheers to Jamaica, paradise!

I always try to explain to locals that Jamaica is a really amazing place. But I guess people need to experience some of the challenges of other nations and regions before they can begin to appreciate a country like Jamaica. Like clean water, fresh air and good/fresh food. Good job, Irina.

I'm a Jamaican, currently living in Canada. I love everything about Jamaica except for the fact that it always seems like those who dare to take a chance to better themselves often suffer by putting a target on their backs. As soon as you get noticed for doing well and succeeding, jealous people will try to take away what you have worked so hard for. The VAST majority of Jamaican people are honest, good folk, but the few who are bad minded can be monsters.

I too am in the process of wanting to move to Jamaica.. I am actually coming November 17th. Jamaica is absolutely the most beautiful country that I've ever been to. The food the culture the people people it has always been my favorite place and always my goal to wind up there. Nothing has ever topped Jamaica.. I vacation there twice a year and when I leave I find myself depressed for weeks I cry like a big giant baby for the 1st couple of days after I leave. My heart belongs in Jamaica. I appreciate everything that the country offers. I want to live off of the land. I have made some really good friends over the last several years. The people in Jamaica are absolutely the most wonderful humans.

EVERYTHING, you said about Jamaican people, is so. Even while living here abroad for nearly forty years, I find that most of us, do not change, in relation to the things you said. We are some of the nicest, most loyal to a fault, kind of people, but don't cross us. We will tell you the truth about yourself and then we leave you alone, unless of course, there is a way to forgive and "forget." Make sure to be an enhancement to our little island. She is 100% correct about everything she said about Jamaica. I’m a Jamaican living in the USA and I didn’t realize what we had in Jamaica is way more ahead of the USA. For instance most people in the US don’t believe a woman is capable of being a US President. And when I hears people saying that America is not ready for a woman president, I was like damn this country is backwards than I even know. Jamaica have been on the forefront of a number of Global political changes in the world from very long time. Jamaica was one of the first to say no, they are not going to be doing business with South Africa during the Apartheid movement’s until the whites minorities stop Apartheid and the oppression of the blacks natives of that African country. It’s not just Reagan Musics, Bob Marley, Marcus Garvey, nice beaches, very fast runners, or Miss World, good food and many other things. We have our own share of problems, but that Island south of Cuba is one of the most remarkable place on earth to be and to live.

I’m so overwhelmed by your vlog many people do not appreciate what they have until they lost it like some people migrate to other countries and speak negatively about the land of their birth, but your love for my country makes me want to return ASAP because everything you say is absolutely true I do not like the winter for all the reasons you said, as for crime it’s every where but I’m happy you as a foreigner speaks so proudly of my country that makes me even prouder to be a Jamaican.

This makes me wanna come back home so much. I'm so happy for people like you who move there and love it ! I've live in the coldest part of the US for so long and I miss Jamaica terribly. I'm tired of the fake people and the horrible winters and it's so depressing here that the people are unhealthy mentally and physically 😣

You are correct 💯 I migrated to Canada because of financial reasons and I'm positive that's why most of us leave. But best believe we take vacation to our home land regularly, and its most people's aim to retire in JA

I would chose Jamaica over any other country! I understand. My peace of mind is beyond anything I have ever experienced when I am there. I feel at home. The environment for me does that to you. Im preparing myself for my departure from the states.

@@earlvickers6797 Everybody has different values. As for crime - I'll make a separate video about it later, because there are so many people who have no idea what the situation is really like. Yes, I would lock the doors at night because this is common sense in ANY country in the world 🤷‍♀️, but most people who live in the hills in Jamaica - don't even have door locks and no, they don't lock their doors. Portland has had next to zero crime rate for years... so, what's your point? However, if you want to play a game "try this at home", sure, I can play it too: 1. Jamaicans often leave their car in the city center with engine running and go to a shop and nobody would steal the car. Try that in the USA. 2. Black Jamaicans can sit outside along the street doing nothing and there wouldn't be a policeman coming to them to ask question. Try that in the USA (actually, don't, because you might get killed) I mean, come on... out of all the countries, the USA is one of the worst examples when it comes to crime and racism, unfortunately. As for Argentina - I actually considered Argentina for a few years, especially that there are many Ukrainians living there. HOWEVER, the major problem there is this crazy unstable economy and multiple currency devaluations, which is a huge issue if you want to run a business. I had enough of these problems in Ukraine, so I didn't want to have them again. Jamaican dollar is not a strong currency either, but at least the economy has shown a steady growth of 1% per year, low but steady. But yeah, let's see what will happen with this covid thing now.. Anyway, thank you for the comment and sharing your opinion, I appreciate it!

@@earlvickers6797 Actually, I'm a business person and I'm very much PRO capitalism. I like the USA and I even stayed there for some time. I lived in LA, California and then I lived in Maui, Hawaii... I'm also planning to come back to the USA to continue my work on IT project in San Francisco, because it is the best place for it. So, your assumption about me is simply wrong, I'm afraid. If you want to know my ideology - you could have just asked. My ideology - I don't care about ideologies and I certainly don't care about politics. What I care about is the truth, supported with facts, instead of opinions. And no, I don't have any hatred towards USA, or any other countries, as a matter of fact! I have a lot of American friends and I like the USA, but simply for other reasons than safety. I mean... do you really think that the USA is the safest country in the world? And yes, there are bars on every house in cities in Jamaica. And you forgot to mention - there is also barb wire on many walls, even the ones surrounding schools and kindergardens (!). However, do you know WHY? Did you take the time to do the research on this subject? Or you're just making assumptions again? I could never understand people who make judgements about others instead of asking them a question. For example, my question to you - why do you even care about Jamaica if you don't like it, you don't live here and don't want to have anything to do with it?

I watched one of the videos/interviews where you said "Jamaica exceeded my expectations". I am happy you are happy with my country (land of wood, water and of course, beauty) and you're basically living the life (in a country with no winter or coldness) you dreamed as a child. When one is free, one is truly happy!
