Jamaica, the Island of the Blue Mountains | Deadliest Journeys
Ойын-сауық
Far from the postcard image, Jamaica is a mountainous region covered with thick tropical vegetation; in the region of the Blue Mountains, the passes exceed 2000 meters in altitude; only the intrepid dare to venture there.

As a Jamaican living in Jamaica, I was truly moved by this. I learnt things and saw parts of Jamaica that I didn’t even know existed. But what was most inspiring is the resilience of all the participants despite the various struggles they face on the journey both literal and figurative, they work through it and I feel that captures the Jamaican spirit beautifully. 🇯🇲🇯🇲…

I remember when I was eleven years old and a family friend came back to Jamaica from New York on vacation to visit family. He took us kids on an adventure trip up the Blue Mountains, and I thought it was Heaven. It was mango season, and the hills were perfumed with the scent of mangoes everywhere. The valleys and peaks made for a picturesque view, and for me, it was a marvelous thing because we lived in the flat lands of Portmore, which by itself, was a beautiful community. God bless Jamaica.🇯🇲🇺🇸

I so dislike when these documentaries seem to focus on the poorer aspect of Jamaica and Jamaicans. You hardly ever see documentaries that focus on the more prosperous side of Jamaica and Jamaicans. Show downtown Kingston but also show uptown. If this is a documentary about the Blue Mountains, how is it that the presenter gone all the way to Westmoreland and Downtown Kingston. Is it just to show how poor Jamaicans are .... KMT. At least him could have shown Mandeville on his way back.

@@purrplemane5954 I know what you are saying and you´re right, the producers could have shown middle class Jamaica as well. Wealthy people are essentially the same all over the planet and are not interesting at all. Id imagine that the producers chose to show what were the most impactful interactions with people. They do this in all the countries they visit. These documentaries are also pretty old now, must be 20 years I reckon. The producers MIGHT have had the intention to show the ´worst´ of each country to make the viewer recognise their privileges. Thats a maybe. One love!

Hard working Jamaicans, never complain. Love from another Jamaican.
I love this documentary.. I hope and pray that the young man working with his grandfather actually has the chance to grow his grandfather's business by far! The blood sweat and tears they put into that coffee business has to pay off in the long run. His family wants him to come to America and I'm sure he could come to the states and excel tremendously!! His work ethic alone says a lot and speaks volumes of who he is going to be in the future, as a grown man! But ultimately he should stay home in Jamaica and make his grandfather proud and expand his business I don't know how old this documentary is, but by now I'm sure he has tapped into his business ethics and social media which can make you rich these days!! Overall this was a great documentary which went into the things that we don't see in the media about Jamaica.
