Jamaica’s WICKEDEST CITY 🇯🇲

#travel #kingston #carribean #island #jamaica
In this video i had the pleasure of taking a tour with ‪@onestopculturaltoursja‬ whose name is Marie. She’s super knowledgeable and very professional. We went to catch the 98 bus heading to port Royal but fell short. After a cab ride we got to port Royal and explored this wonderful city. This city reminded me a lot of an island i had been to in Belize. Walking around port Royal is very easy to do and the area is small enough for you to explore. This place has so much history and most famously known for this being a safe haven for pirates long long ago. Another important event was the earthquake of June 7, 1692 which sunk 33 acres of port Royal.

This is the birthplace of one of jamaica's national heroes (paul bogle) he led a rebellion along with morant bay workers. Wow this is a long comment...anyways paul bogle walked 45 miles from stony gut to spanish town. I also visited Morant Bay, saw the old courthouse, the canons and the site/memorial where ever 400 people were killed. I have travelled to Morant Bay several times via public taxi from.Parade using the new southern coastal highway. It is a scenic 50 - 60.min journey, costing approx 500 JMD. I have also taken a second taxi for 300 jmd to visit and explore Bath mineral spa.

Also, if the earthquake didn't happen, would Port Royal remain Jamaicas' main port of entry? Also, I would love to see pictures of what Jamaica looked like during slavery. Specifically an image of an actual plantation. I have seen actual ruins of the "massa" house and there are great houses but to me they look different as a great house than as the main house of a plantation with acres of land. i just would love to see the full picture with slave houses and fields and all. Living in New York almost 50 years. FYI...That was not a term of endearment. It never will be considering that Buju Banton spent time in US prison because of his lyrics, plus Jamaica does not have a pleasant history - see asylum seekers who claim Homophobic and discrimination as the reason for wanting to leave Jamaica. Your host may have been trained on cultural tours in Jamaica; however, being call a ba**yman is NOT! Don't ever let anyone disrespect you like that, especially if you don't know them. No-no-no!!!!!!! Please read, and research. Just like BBC is NOT appropriate language, it wreaks of vulgarity, it is foul, classless and ignorant - Spice (Dancehall entertainer) actually glorified it (the word) on a trip in Europe and my people forgot their self respect and respect for others.
