How much time, space, or a restart do you want? Back to your corners? Perhaps they should start the round clock over again? Maybe we could have Bruce come back in and do the vodka ad again.

    Jamahal is delusional... And it's official, you cant say this guy isn't making excuses, he's clearly blaming this loss on the groin strike sequence.... 1st of all Hill should go read the official mma rules about fouls, the way herb handled that was 100% spot on, he did nothing wrong. 2nd. Alex was the one who absorbed an illegal strike, why should Alex be penalized with a 30second+ reset, if he doesn't want or need one? 3rd. Alex wasn't moving in when the fight was stopped, he moved in when the fight was BACK ON 4th. They touched gloves, Hill was ready to go. 5th. Hill threw a punch slightly before Alex did, more proof Hill was ready, the difference is Alex slipped Hill's punch, and landed his. 6th. If you've been watching mma more than a month you know this happens all the time, a fighter gets fouled, then that fouled fighter waives off the ref and they continue the action right away, just like Alex did. What is it with these fighters? They just refuse to give Alex any respect, even after they lose to him.

  • @Rikiko722

    @Rikiko722

    20 күн бұрын

    If you watch carefully, Alex hops forward when Hill is expecting a break in the action. If Hill wasn't expecting a break in the action after the groin shot he would have most likely moved in response to Alex's hop in order to maintain distance. By the point Hill realises Herb is not resetting them, though he is obviously ready, he is slightly closer than he ought to be and he doesn't plead with Herb to reset - perhaps he miscalculated that he would be safe at that range, or maybe just didn't want to complain. The fight could have played out in multiple other ways and Alex may have just KO'd Hill anyway, so I'm not claiming that that moment necessarily decided the fight, but with a guy who has nuclear knockout power one small mistake is all it takes and I think Alex did capitalise on that moment where Hill thought the action was going to be reset.

It's ultimately on Jamahal, period, but what you described is exactly what we all (who look at all the details + the big picture) plainly and uncontroversially know and understand... It's just unfortunate, how subtle unforced errors often ruin the satisfaction of a fight - a little or a lot - not that we think Alex was gonna be losing that fight anyway, in the end. Ego was driving when Jamahal - in that sudden-uncertain-range moment - decided to stay (and throw) instead of _instantly_ stepping/circling the FUCK away and out. He needed to _evade_ in response to that subtle step-in Alex had just taken.

    I think regardless if you like Jamahal or Alex, overwhelming majority agree there's no controversy here. Herb did the right thing and didn't get involved because Alex said he is okay, they reset and touched gloves, they both threw at the same time a bit later and Jamahal got caught with his eyes rolling back while falling down and proceeded to take 7-8 unanswered hammer fists with no defense or hands up.

  • @icer39

    @icer39

    19 күн бұрын

    Definitely had hands up. Definitely a confusing exchange leading to the knock down with Alex stopping the ref. But Herb did nothing wrong. A cleaner reset would have been more professional bc it wouldn't leave room for all this investigation. He could have acknowledged the low kick, pulled them away, gave him a second to say he was okay and resumed the fight. Like in jon Jones versus cyril gane.

  • @reborntruths

    @@icer39 go watch the finish again his hands fell to his waist while he was eating hammer fists and he stopped defending his self. Also Herb stepped right next to them and asked if Alex was okay and they touched gloves to continue the fight. If anything separating them all the way would have interfered with Alex’s momentum as he was the one pressuring. Agree to disagree I just think it’s unneeded excuses.

    @reborntruths I can show you a screen shot of him on the ground with hands up. He does stop defending after a few are thrown. Also jon Jones had a similar situation against Stipe, he didn't tell the ref to go away, he acknowledge the illegal blow, separated for a brief second, told the ref he was clear, then clean reset. In my opinion, a fighter shouldn't be able to stop a ref that is pausing the fight for a foul. I don't think Herb was wrong but a more clean reset would eliminate this situation. With that being said they touched gloves and Jamahal swung first so no excuses, just giving his perspective on the events that transpired. Yeah he got dropped but there were definitely factors that lead to it, factors that could possibly be eliminated in the future.

    I’m tired of this poor me narrative. Hill had his hands up he never took his eyes off Alex and he never acted as if they stopped the action. Please, everybody watch the fight Jamall never acted as if the action was stopped. If people can’t tell by, watching how Jamall was throwing punches missing by like a foot. His distancing was horrible. I’m not even an Alex fan but you could see the difference between a person who is not technically sound…. shuffling his feet and walking towards people. Hill uses height and size as an advantage. Similar to John Jones. He’s good but of Hill thinks that was the reason or it was just Alexes night and doesn’t do anything different if they fight again he’s absolutely crazy.

    I was rooting for Alex in this fight but I totally hear what hill is saying and everyone on the internet's just trying to dunk on him because he lost, If you've ever done any sport at a high level a millisecond is enough for anything to go wrong, You gotta remember Alex knows he's gonna wave off herb hill doesn't so when hill sees herb go time and come towards them, Hill does plant his feet for a millisecond before herb backs off, As hill says he's trying to check and see if Alex is OK he also states that he should have remained in the defend yourself at all times mindset, But if we're being honest from a UFC rule set perspective the moment is a little sketchy, Herb kind of backs away after Alex puts his hand out there is no clear time in it's a little blurry it's a millisecond but at this level that millisecond is death, remember This is coming from someone who was going for Alex, hill his gained a lot of my respect With how he's handling this loss I'll be rooting for him for the first time in his next fight

    It wasn't a groin kick. Alex even said that. For yourself, watch the tape back slow and you will see that it landed in his hip. The Noise was his toe hitting the top of the cup. Do you guys only watch the fight night and just some popular media you like to follow? Or do you really pay attention to the entirety of the sport because it's already been said by professionals that were there that night that it wasn't a low blow. And as far as the MMA rules and referee protocols, There are at least three things that happen during this fight that could be a solid argument. We just don't see the officials arguing about it in the comment section.
