Depends on how things turn out for him long term. Many top level talented kids have chose a non NCAA route in the past but dropped off the radar. Personally, I think he could’ve made more as a OAD college kid but much like the ncaa the NBA is also taking advantage kids jumping straight from HS to play in the g-league paying them very little $’s up front - no guaranteed $$$’s!!!! Look at how much more exposure Zion (who also had a strong social media following) got playing at Duke which greatly elevated his draft status. The nba’s is using high school to g-league kids to help them avoid risk of committing long term to a guaranteed contract they’d normally pay after drafting a college/international player. Wish Jalen the best of luck bc I’ve watched him over past few years and like his game. Hope kids get good advice from some informed mentors and stay focused on getting the big prize building up their draft stock rather than being swayed by non-guaranteed minimal $’s playing in the D-league vs grown men who may not be as fast or jump as well as the use to but may accidentally hurt this kid. At this point there are really no guarantees related to g-league injuries that I’ve seen. Conversely, had Zion got injured while at Duke he would have never been hurting for anything long term due to Duke’s powerful alumni, same can be said for other premier college programs.

G League games are pretty lit compared to College Basketball. Only downside is that they don't have that many fans watching live.
For Jalen Green any choice is a good choice, he'll go anywhere and get buckets 🤷🏾♂️😬🤐

NCAA is in trouble! No more using these young players and making millions off them! This is awesome.

Not true. College basketball might miss out on 30 stud freshman each year, but that only affects about 15 schools. Kids will have to choose whether they want to make nothing but play in front of 20,000 fans a night and have a kick ass year of college, or go to some hick town and play in front of 13 fans in a garbage league that nobody cares about. $500,000 might be a lot of money for me or you, but for a guy who will be making $30 mill a year a couple years down the road, it doesn't seem like so much. College basketball will always have a massive following.

Tj Mckenzie But you know how corrupt the ncaa have been and plus not only colleges party’s and other stuff can be distracting but going straight pro is a good way to get in the league
@dukebrewcrew2884
4 жыл бұрын
Agreed but make no mistake the nba is doing the same thing to these kids paying them $80-500k rather than commit to a long term guaranteed contract for a kid. The g league route offers very few (if any) guarantees long term and $500k is literally cut in half once taxes are taken out. Some of us remember a similar system like the high school to g-league route top level kids like Jalen chose but they then completely disappeared.
@thomasmckenzie4584

The Mamba, I agree with you completely about how corrupt the NCAA is and how much money they make off these kids. But if I've learned one thing about American sports fans, it's that they will always support their colleges before they ever support a minor league team. The G League will really hurt Kentucky, but it really won't hurt any other schools.

Duke BrewCrew, I'm still finding it hard to understand how the NBA can say it's ok to go to the G League but not right to the NBA. If a kid is ready to play the NBA right out of high school, why should he have to join a garbage league like the G League?

Jaygup, Jalen green, sharife, bj and jalen Suggs are the best in the class of 2020
That’s actually a great choice
This young man is the complete package. It is almost like anything short of the next huge transcendent superstar, will be unfairly looked by some as a letdown. I hope he has longevity, and health. With those 2 things , only the NBA folding as a league will prevent him from dominating. If not he probably could model or be an actor.
