I was raised on Miracle Whip and use it in probably about everything that other people use mayo. BLTs are delicious with Miracle Whip. Our family loves jalapeño poppers, too. One tip that makes cleaning out the peppers easy for me is I use a grapefruit spoon. It has a serrated edge which gets that membrane out of there very easily. Also, I add a little can of green chilies in the filling. They really add a good flavor. Thanks for your videos.

Leslie, I thought you were trying not to cry about your Mothers tomato sandwich. I felt so sad for you until I realized you were trying to avoid hurling. Cracked me up. So sorry. Ms Leslie I know you all like strawberries and Jamie really does; don't know it if you ever made strawberry pretzel desert but it is so easy and so good and cool and refreshing. I had fresh strawberries as well to the frozen thawed ones in the jello. So easy to make, try it : Strawberry Pretzel Dessert ⦁ Ingredients ⦁ 2 cups crushed pretzels (about 8 ounces) ⦁ 3/4 cup butter, melted ⦁ 3 tablespoons sugar ⦁ FILLING: ⦁ 2 cups whipped topping ⦁ 1 package (8 ounces) cream cheese, softened ⦁ 1 cup sugar ⦁ TOPPING: ⦁ 2 packages (3 ounces each) strawberry gelatin ⦁ 2 cups boiling water ⦁ 2 packages (16 ounces each) frozen sweetened sliced strawberries, thawed (I also add fresh sliced strawberries well because) ⦁ Additional whipped topping, optional ⦁ Directions ⦁ 1. In a bowl, combine the pretzels, butter and sugar. Press into an ungreased 13-in. x 9-in. baking dish. Bake at 350° for 10 minutes. Cool on a wire rack. ⦁ 2. For filling, in a small bowl, beat whipped topping, cream cheese and sugar until smooth. Spread over pretzel crust. Refrigerate until chilled. ⦁ 3. For topping, dissolve gelatin in boiling water in a large bowl. Stir in strawberries with syrup; chill until partially set. Carefully spoon over filling. Chill for 4-6 hours or until firm. Cut into squares; serve with whipped topping if desired. Yield: 12-16 servings.

Awesome video, Leslie! Your cookout looked like so much fun! Aww, I understand about the soggy sandwich. I was never crazy about mayonnaise, and then one day my beloved Mom must have put too much on my school lunch sandwich, and part of the bread was soggy. Maybe not as soggy as yours, but enough to affect me. So to this day I can’t eat mayo on a sandwich. I can eat it only in salads, like chicken salad, potato salad, etc. I love jalapeño poppers, yours look delicious! I love you guys, God bless you all! 🤗❤️🙏

JFG is available on Amazon and all over eastern Tennessee. My mother in law used it. But, I love Duke’s. A friend made me some jalapeño poppers yesterday, and he stuffed them with pimento cheese spread and wrapped them in bacon and grilled them on the grill. Oh, they were delicious. Have a great vacation.

I was always turned off by mayo until I was somewhere over 50 yrs old. Now I mix Best Foods mayo, NOT MIRACLE WHIP, yuk (no Dukes here in SoCal) with tuna for sandwiches and even spread a little bit on the bread when I have a BLT!! I can eat potato salad and coleslaw now just as long as it not swimming in mayo. I only make coleslaw with Ken's Sweet Vidalia Onion dressing, delicious. I'm a big girl now at 75, lol, hahaha

I never make tomato sandwiches for lunch. For that reason, I send my husband the bread.Or bun with the mayo on it , his mayo is hellmen's😮 We don't have dukes in canada. Anyways , I send him the bread and I put the slice tomatoes in a separate container so he puts it on himself when he's ready to eat. The only other thing that I sometimes do is to put large pieces of lettuce on either side of the tomato and that stops the juices from getting into the bread

I grew up in Ohio & my mom always used miracle whip salad dressing for everything. Not my favorite but I didn't know there were other options. But whenever we spent the night at my grandmas, she would make us bologna sandwiches with the most delicious salad dressing. I remember wondering why hers always tasted better. Later I found out it was real mayonnaise and now I will not ever buy anything but "real" mayo. It doesn't have to be a certain brand, just have to be "real" mayo.

Did PB play volleyball....🫣 Looks like everyone had a great 4th...I was raised on Kraft Mayo until I changed to dukes and only dukes now... Of course it was soggy that's something you have to eat right away...lol... Yes I wouldn't want one either... miracle whip is ok not bad it has a bit of a twang to it... Don't feel bad about a sandwich without dukes .. they look good ... God bless everyone.. have a great day...🙏🙏🥰🥰🇺🇲

Leslie, I know lots of people think only Duke's mayo is southern, but Miracle whip is southern also. It depends on the area where you grew up. Some people will only eat Blue Plate mayo. So you don't have to say you lost your southern card. I grew up eating Miracle Whip tomato sandwiches and I am definitely southern.😀 It's all a matter of individual taste. Variety makes like interesting!

I'm from the south and I grew up on Miracle Whip and still love it. Some people say it's sweet, but I don't understand why, to me it's just tangy and flavorful, while mayonnaise is nearly tasteless. I was talkin to a family member yesterday and we both agreed that we don't like Duke's. I'd been wanting to try Duke's for years after hearing how wonderful it is from other southerners, but when I finally tasted it, it was so awful I nearly spit it out. I wish I liked it as much as others seem to. Hope you all have a blessed weekend!

Now as an adult I like both, but there are very definite things I eat with MW, but mostly it’s mayo - Dukes is my preferred. We did not have dukes where I was raised and it only recently (last 5 years or so) became available in the Houston area. I retired to Alabama and it is the dominant mayo here.

Amen sister. I was raised on tomato sandwiches always with Miracle Whip. When I got married I guess I thought everybody used Miracle Whip. When my husband and I were married around 30 years something was said about Miracle Whip and Mayonnaise. My husband said “we’ll I like Mayonnaise better”. WHAT!!!Well why after all these years didn’t you tell me I asked? Cause I just ate what you made. So anyways I now have both in the refrigerator I also love potato chip sandwiches made with of course Miracle Whip😊

I was raised on Miracle Whip and I won't ever change and I love tomatoe sandwiches. But my husband was raised on Hellmans so I have to buy both. But the only time he eats Miracle whip is when I make egg salad or macaroni and potato salad cause I will not put Hellmans in mine. Lol Just letting you know I enjoy watching all your videos no matter what your showing.

I'm a northerner and grew up on strictly Hellmann's mayo. I've tried Miracle Whip but don't care for the sweetness. In the last couple of years, Duke's mayo and bbq sauces have become available in my area. I now keep both Hellmann's and Duke's in my house. I like Duke's for sandwiches and salad dressings. I prefer Hellmann's for my NY deli potato and macaroni salads. My husband is a die-hard Hellmann's fan and only eats Duke's in things he doesn't know I use it for 😂

You were so cute talking about losing your southern card! But I think you’re right! My southern friends are militant about their food! Almost hateful! There’s only one way and there are no exceptions! I have a friend who actually gets angry if there’s sugar in the cornbread even if that’s the way the rest of us like it! Chuckle, I don’t know what it is, maybe it’s in the genes! So sorry telling the story made you gag.

I am 100% southern but I do not eat tomatoes (it's a texture thing) and I don't drink sweet tea......LOL I use Duke's or Kraft mayo, which ever is on sale these days. I grew up on Kraft and the hubs grew up on Duke's.....we both can eat either one. I make the hubs lots of BLTs in the summer....and lots of cuke/tomato/onion salads for him, along with fried green tomatoes and fried or stewed squash. Have a wonderful weekend!!!
