The history of Jalandhar District comprises three periods - ancient, medieval and modern.
The city may be named after Jalandhara, a demon king, who is named in the Puranas and Mahabharata. The city was founded by Devasya Verma as mentioned in Vedas. Other possibilities include that it was the capital of the kingdom of Lava, son of Rama or that the name derives from the vernacular term Jalandhar, meaning area inside the water, i.e tract lying between the two rivers Satluj and Beas

My parents fro. Jalandhar.migrated to Pakistan during partition I am thankful to you for showing my roots I iive in USA
my grandmother was from Jalandhar, but migrated to Faisalabad Pakistan, she use to tell me stories about this city how she grew up there. I must say i always wanted to visit my roots hopefully one day i can visit this city!

My grandparents migrated from jalandar to Pakistan due to violence against Muslims in 1947 , they used to live in Railway colony

Thank you for showing my maternal Grandparents Hometown before partition. Love this vlog. Hope to know more about Jalandhar and our roots. They migrated from Jalandhar to Lahore. Love from Lahore, Pakistan. I must say i always wanted to visit my roots hopefully one day i can visit this city!

We need our security first. Pakistan need strong leadership like Modi so they can maintain law and order in Pakistan and stop terrorist attacks and stop illegal activities then only India will have open borders with Pakistan. Then it will be amazing hosting you

Have you seen videos of muslims of India being killed for being muslim? Or forced to shout jai shri ram? Sikhs don't do this, only hindus do. What terrorist attacks and illegal activity are you even talking about? There's been literally nothing in the last few years. Name me something.

@chasingrainbows8062 I don't have pakistani citizenship or passport. I can come to India freely. I choose not to becuase I see vidoes of muslims being killed and beaten in India because the hindus call them invaders. No thanks. I won't go to any country where hate prevalent. I don't need to go to India. When they learn how to treat their own muslim community better then we shall reconsider.
