Jalama Beach / A Re-Visit to A California Campground Fav!

Join us as we re-visit the wonderful campground at Jalama Beach in Santa Barbara County, California! Its known for the beach and the burgers! It is way off the beaten path, but super popular and always a good time. We have stayed here several times and suggest making a reservation way ahead of time. There are cabins, beachfront sites and hillside sites with a view!

We haven't been to Jalama in a few years, but it still remains one of our all time favorites! We are now full time in our Grand Design Imagine XLS 17MKE and have loads of new videos. For a new favorite (and some better editing - ha ha) check out (it's not on the coast, but in one of our absolute favorite scenic areas of California: kzread.info/dash/bejne/hXmGrK2OqM7MfqQ.html

It is a really cool place! Can get super windy though... we actually ate two Jalama burgers the last time here - I never eat wheat, but did eat the bun both days. Watching the train cross the trestle, especially at dusk is worth the noise. Thanks for watching!

What beautiful colors all around you! And you could probably hear the Pacific lapping at the shore. Very NICE!! Since you like this I have an idea you would like Kelly's Brighten Marina & RV in Rockaway Beach, Oregon. It is a very small RV park without many amenities. All sites (which are reservable) have water and electric but it is the view that is so fabulous. We backed in and out our back was the water. People come from all over to go clamming here. Or you can just buy some roasted clams and there is your dinner. The RV sites are close together and the higher numbers are best. There are also some gorgeous tent sites - some of the best we have seen. Thanks again for your videos!! Love them!

Thanks for the kind words and the suggestion! We usually head for State or County parks instead of RV parks, but do like the little mom & pop style so will add Kelly's to our list to check out. I think buying clams sounds about right for us - ha ha! Thanks for the suggestion and for watching!

I love watching all of your videos but I was super interested to see this one. I used to go there years ago, like 36 years ago, it has been built up a lot since I was there last. When I used to go there the entire road in was not paved so most times there were not many people there. I need to go back, thanks for sharing this wonderful spot and taking me down memory lane!

@@TravelSmallLiveBig Yeah, I was driving a Ford Pickup truck with a small camper shell only. My grandfather built two twin beds on either side with storage underneath and a small built in cabinet in between. So just a cooler and a grill and a couple of sleeping bags. That is a very difficult question for me to answer! We’ve been traveling for a couple of years so I have a lot to choose from. In Oregon we loved Farewell Bend - beautiful setting along the Rogue River: Farewell Bend RV & Tent Campground / Oregon / A Campground Fav! kzread.info/dash/bejne/i41kmK-sdbvFZ9I.html And you can walk the trail to the gorge: A Visit To The Rogue River Gorge / Hiking In The Rain! kzread.info/dash/bejne/ZZiD1KSdgsbNc6Q.html For fall leaves, I loved Goose Point in Virginia: Goose Point Campground / Tent or RV Campground / Philpott Lake, Virginia / A Campground Fav! kzread.info/dash/bejne/Y3uWxaeJcdrcn8Y.html And a favorite in CA for the incredible mountain views is Tuttle Creek: Tuttle Creek Campground / Alabama Hills National Scenic Area / California / A Campground Fav! kzread.info/dash/bejne/hXmGrK2OqM7MfqQ.html What are your three favorites?

@@TravelSmallLiveBig I was at Farewell Bend, but it was super cold and nobody was camping there. So I decided to stay at a state park campground further down instead bc I felt safer there. But the Farewell Bend campground is beautiful. Tuttle Creek I also know. Whitney Portal I may enjoy even a little more. Eastern part of the country I never camped. I probably like the Lower Lehman Creek campground, Indian Cove Campground and would maybe add Twin Lakes to that bc of what there is to do there. But I haven't traveled as much as you.
