You can see how few teeth Voracek has when he cracks a grin. Fuck, ice hockey is a brutal game. The people who report on it should always be respectful of the players. Dang. They sacrifice much to play the game at such a high level. They should be given respect.

@theplayboymaster dude, he has freedom of speech but he still would have to face consequences of said speech. Just like you can tell FIRE in a crowded theater sure but you will be arrested and majorly fined if not also jail time. In all honesty, freedom of speech is actually just saying you can say what you want about the government without fear of reprisal. Being that the NHL is a private business they have every right to fine him if they so choose. So yeah, freedom of speech does not mean what a majority of people thinks it means.

I love this. Voracek’s massive smile after he sees TK holding back what looks like laughter. Beyond watching them play and listening to them on friendly podcasts, I have never been interested in what media writes about them...well at least beyond all the business that was kept secret during the Hextall GM years.

Makes me a proud Philly fan

The columnist has been around for many years. I don’t always agree with his opinions, but he has integrity. He’s not a rookie trying to dig up dirt. You can’t lump all of the media into one category. There are 2 sides to every story. Unfortunately there are REAL weasels that ruin it for accountable columnists like this guy.

The Inquirer did the same thing to Chris Pronger and got called out on it back then. Sounds like the Inquirer is the problem.

Voracek just became one of my favorite players. Players constantly get abused by the media and great on him for standing up for himself. Also Konecny’s reaction was amazing.

Players need to do this more (especially in Toronto). If you look at what the reporter has said about Voracek in the past his comment is completely understandable.

You almost never see this from NHL players. This was a rare treat. Kudos to Voracek for standing up for himself and calling out that weasel reporter instead of taking the all too tried passive aggressive route. I don't think this should always happen after every little criticism, but if a person keeps criticizing you for an extended period of time for unjust and untrue reasons, you have the right to call him/her out for their bullshit.
