The main difference between the two of them is that Jake fights because he "loves what's behind him" rather than "hates what's in front of him". That's the part when Jake wins. He fights for his family and loved ones, not for the sole purpouse of revenge like Quarrich.

Yes but in the movie, quarrich fights with more ambition and brutality. Like he wants it more. Jake, even with all the killing quarrich has done, is ok with just walking away. Jake can't match the colonel tenacity which makes me annoyed. He only wins because it's a movie. In real life you have to take it to that level. You can't win with slaps when your opponent is throwing haymakers.

I think people forget Jake had military training as well...though I'd still say Quaritch gets the edge in training Weapons it can go to both. I feel like Jake knows .ore about the planet both in plants and also weapons. His main weapons is obviously a rifle but I don't think he'd have any trouble using a bow and poison like most other Navi does. Resources obviously Quaritch. He was way to cocky and pissed about his death to let anyone know about Jake's location he could've easily told hq about his location or the area he was in and get ships full of firepower and killed them yet his personal vendetta against Jake and his family was more important than the mission.

@@rhiilo I’ve watched the movies many times. 1: Both races are fighting to save themselves. Humanity needs resources and money to expand off Earth and keep their civilization functioning. Na’vi are trying to repel the invaders from killing them all. So right off the bat, both races are equally justified in their motivations. However, the humans are morally correct because 2: The humans tried for years at both peaceful diplomacy and coexistence where the Na’vi have their villages and the humans mine the unobtanium with no disturbances. However the Na’vi were so resistant to the idea of peace and cooperation that the humans were forced to use the military in order to continue their mining operations. Why would humanity have spent trillions of dollars on clones of the Na’vi if they didn’t care about peace and diplomacy to a significant extent? The humans could have bombed Pandora from orbit and taken their unobtanium from the charred ruins of the jungle. Think about it.

There is an argument for giving the transiting to jake and it’s a strong argument. The dude spent around 15 years as a navi, that includes all of their activities. Hunting, fighting, just running around pandora getting use to the fast paced environment would mean he has very quick reflexes. He was also in the army and he has been shown to be a great fighter. Quaritch has good training but how much of it was for this?

Bruv, the only way Quarich was able to put Jake in a hold is because the writers needed a longer fight. Realisticly with the experience jake got underwater with the medkaina, he would kill Quarich before the latter even got time to shit himself

Fighting & Skill go to COLONEL Quaritch buddy. Dude was a friggin Colonel in the USMC, Sully was only a Corporal. Most likely given promotion to Corporal purely as a ceremonial circumstance from his medical discharge. Col. Quaritch easily put 20 plus years in. So certainly has more fighting experience & skill. Also by his personality, I can guarantee he is a mustang. Was an NCO (Non-Commisoned Officer) to CO (Commissioned Officer)

Technically jake only got lucky in their second fight which is a real aspect in a fight that's in a dynamic environment. The first fight wasn't good to compare.

I dont agree, that Jake's IQ is lower than Quaritch. I think its higher, because how then common soldier could win 2 times in war with strong trained commander that being soldier, i think, all his life. May be battle IQ is higher, but general IQ is lower than Jake's. Jake's is more cunning and smart about his strategy to win this war.

Pretty simple. Quaritch's body is newer and not trained jet. He doesn't know the environment as much as jake does but has a lot more battle experience. Those factors will balance out later on.
