Nobody could cut a better promo than Jake.

Mean Gene (RIP) was the absolute best interviewer for promos. Jake was one of the best interviewee of the 80's and early 90's.

Jake’s heart was with the Wrestling business. I don’t think he really had an interest in being some regular Hollywood actor. His dream job was to be a top writer in the business

Everyone talks about how good Jake was(because he was) but Gene never missed a beat.

Gene was brilliant . He prompted and totally understood television flamboyance.

Dudes basically in street clothes yet your attention hangs on his every word..no shouting..sometimes even a whisper can calm a storm..thats Jake the Snake. His words were calm as the wind but captivating as thunder!

@@aronmaslan6604 ..he wasn't main event because Vince had all his focus on Hogan and other bodybuilders like Hogan. Jake wasn't looking to be megastar. Vince hired him cause he had charisma and could wrestle. Also Vince was buying the best guys from territories to make WWF main place to watch and be.

@@aronmaslan6604 .if u r asking why he lost money..wwe was owned only by Vince back then and paid by him. It wasn't the billion dollar biz it is today with board members. Crowds weren't as big back then either.

I graduated wrestling school in 2007.. wrestled until 2017 in the indy scene...as a manager and in ring talent... JAKE is a wordsmith.... People have won academy awards for lesser verbiage. One of the chief inspirations of mine... A man like Jake deserved but didn't need a world championship... Should have been IC champ mind you... He had panache and unbridled eloquence on the mic. I'm glad he sought out Dallas and got clean... God bless you and thanks Snake...

There have been several truly great promo cutters in the business. But you can’t honestly say anyone did it any BETTER than the Snake

Next to Dusty Rhodes, the best wrestler who did promos in the business!

Another great Jake interview. And he probably just winged it just having come in from the airport.

Jake could cut a promo about a broom that would be 1000x more intriguing and believable than anything you see today.

I like how Roman Reigns with his Tribal Chief persona talks with quiet yet strong authoritative confidence. Not quite on this level but getting there or there abouts.

Jake was a heel just a couple of weeks earlier. Saw a promo from early January where he was shit talking JYD.
