The only part I kind of disagree with from this breakdown was what Sr said which was taken out of context. He explained it better after the presser. He’s just saying that his son was cocky because he was undefeated and since he was winning he didn’t think he needed to change anything. Until his loss to Morrison which made him eat humble pie.

I know. Same can be said even after watching the fucking greg hardy fight that hasim lost, the way hasim fought in round 1 in that fight was beautiful. Also greg had over 100 pounds on hasim which was crazy lmao, but hasim still but up a decent fight even just for one round and he survived till the end. Jake would have been knocked out cold by greg hardy imo. Hasim would have beat jake to a pulp way worse then tommy did, because let's be honest the tommy fight wasn't even a completely dominant performance. For the most part yeah, however tommy had no power shots, jake landed the greatest power shots, and knocked tommy down in the final round. It was way closerrrr then hasim vs jake would have been and i'm just being completely honest.

I don’t think Rahman is necessarily complaining about the rehydration clause, he’s just letting people know the type of stuff Jake does to swing things in his advantage behind the scenes. Casual fans just see him fighting a real boxer after fighting 40 year old MMA fighters who have recently had hip surgery. So even when Jake is doing the “finally fighting a boxer” schtick, he’s trying to pull strings behind the scenes to swing the fight in his favor

This apparent clause is in place to prevent or limit how much weight he can put back on after the official weigh ins... So he's not much bigger than Jake at the time of the actual fight.

Jr wasn't complaining about the clause, Jake was trying to make it look like he was fighting a much heavier opponent at 220+ when the clause basically limits rahman jr to 210, so called him out on it.

@@Minimish28 And because of that they put in a rehydration clause to stack the deck back on his side. He will be heavier... and dehydrated. You can't say "i'm fighting the bigger tougher guy." While you are doing everything you can to make him weaker. Whether or not it makes a difference is a separate issue. The attempt to weaken your opponent means you can't act like you want him at his best, like you're after the challenge.

Jake literally holds all the cards here. He's fighting a "bigger guy" yet won't let the guy regain all his strength. He's literally got a built in excuse.

It's a good thing Jake didn't go through with this fight. He would have gotten knocked out.

the only point I disagree with wade is on the whole hasim complaining about the rehydration clause part. He only said that in response to Jake trying to use Hasim's weight against him and say that he's a heavyweight in order to make it seem even more of an unfair fight for jake, while the truth is that they both will be cruiserweights at weigh in and the rehydration clause prevents hasim from going back up significantly on fight night. Haism didn't mention any of these points before jake tried to cleverly but ironically make excuses before the fight.

Then he should've fought someone who is cruiserweight, he is always fighting someone who is not from his weight class, and jake is natural cruiserweight while hashim is natural heavyweight its ao obvious that jake has advantage of weight class here and check history mate people move up in weight class they don't go down. Hashim won't be 100% he cuts weight with that he also decreases his strength while jake is going to be fighting in his natural state. Weight cutting is a very hard process

Its rigged in the aspect that he faces guys he thinks he can beat look at his past opponents he knew he was able to beat them because hes younger and actually trained while the ex ufc guys may have some striking training arent pure strikers . Askren was washed and tyron was known as the frozen one due to him not throwing enough. Also look at their first fight tyron couldve beat him but he just stood there so that was a bit suspicious. Maybe this fight will be different and i sure hope it is but honestly i wouldnt be surprised if Jake somehow wins.

I think Jake is slowly starting to realize he may have bitten off more than he can chew this fight as the press conference went on Jake lost his confident cocky attitude he always had especially in the face off I think once Jake saw the legit size of who he actually has to fight a guy who's even bigger than Logan and who has a solid Jab with like 10x the fights Jake has had and has been boxing and training basically his whole life while Jake is only at 5 years and yet to face anyone with really any boxing credentials he realized shit this could very easily end up going south quickly and very badly

Just like it would be a bad idea to lose a bunch of weight on the day of the fight. the rehydration clause sounds like they want him to cut weight and stay dehydrated so that during the fight Hasim will be easier to put down or to rock easier from punches that wouldnt otherwise do so if he was properly hydrated.

Rahman Jr. said in an interview at the press conference that another clause that he had to agree to was that they will fine him 25% of his pay for every 4 ounces he is over the weight agreement. So, if he is half of a pound over then, he only gets HALF of his pay!! That is wild!! I’m definitely excited for the fight and think it will be entertaining!

Exactly, a lot of people haven't seen any of Rahman Jr.'s fights and just assume that he's some high-level boxer. Rahman is very slow and flat-footed. He allows his opponents to come into range and land unnecessary punches on him. Unless Rahman took that loss in his last fight very seriously and has taken the time to improve his defense and mobility, the chances of Jake winning are actually much higher than what many people think imo.

First, what an intro, second, after the press conference I like Hasim more.

As a new boxing fan, I would love a video about the weight difference and how Hasim will cut it. It seems like a tremendous difference to make up.

I actually met Hasim at Eos in Las Vegas working out, seems very humble I wish him the best!

Just found out another thing about that rehydration clause that shows that you have to be on Raham Jr side for every pound over the limit he gets 25% docked from his pay, 25%! We know what Jake is doing here like he did with everyone else make them come to his weight so they have to spend more of their time training on getting bigger/smaller and feeling very uncomfortable in the fight.

Ok, so I like Jake’s mentality that he can beat anyone, and I respect him taking this fight. However, this is honestly just too big of a risk imo. Jake can clearly fight, but I think he’s overestimating himself. My honest opinion is that he’s gonna get humbled pretty damn fast. Maybe he’ll make me eat my words tho, idk 🤷‍♂️

10:10 he didn’t complain though. He answered the question by saying there’re no problems and he’s gonna cut the weight. Then Jake came in with the shit talk talking about how hasim is bigger blah blah blah and using that as somehow an advantage hasim has to boost his underdog persona. despite Jake knowing fully well hasim gonna have to cut that weight. So when hasim told him he should have come up to to his weight it was in response jake trying to use it as a crutch. 100% the right move by hasim there.

You misunderstood what he meant when he said "if you were all that" ... he said it immediately after Jake blurted out his "I shouldn't win this fight, he's a heavyweight" routine. Hasim wasn't complaining about the weight he agreed to, he just said if you forced me down to this weight you don't get to say "he's a heavyweight". Everything in the fight contract (200lbs weigh in + no higher than 214lbs rehydration clause) ensures Jake won't be fighting heavyweight Hasim. Jake was shut down in that presser, started looking around him and mumbling "you sound so stupid" and "who knows you", talking about followers. He usually get the upper hand in pressers because he's immature and dumb, you can never win an argument against a dumb kid, but with Hadim exposing all the contractual handicaps, Jake didn't have anything. Also, not letting a guy rehydrate isn't "fair", it's downright dangerous. Jake wanted to "fight a heavyweight", he should accept that a heavyweight that can somehow make 200lbs will shoot back up on fight day. You can't have it both ways and still have it be called fair.

I would have like Hasim to hone in on the pay thing. Say something like "why do I have the most legitimacy and I am getting paid the least? Who are you? Dana White?". Try and get under Jakes skin a bitmore with it
