wouldn't call label them as "modern". More like early 00's metalcore. If we say modern metalcore, what comes to mind are Wage War, While She Sleeps, Bury Tomorrow, Fit For a King, Polaris, Erra, Invent Animate, Currents, Imminence etc.

It's not bumping into musical boundaries or anything, but it's just absolutely quintessential metalcore - archetypal, like the AC/DC of metalcore. Sick track. I can relate so much to this song. I got out of an abusive, controlling and toxic relationship about 6 months ago. It took a lot from me. She was always bending the truth and putting the blame on me, but she couldn't even admit her own faults. I'm not a perfect human and I share part of the blame of the falling out of the relationship. I do feel like "I carry the weight". So this song means a lot to me. Thanks to AILD and you Jake and all the other bands that helped through so much right and in my life. Big love for you guys!!

First 2 and a half minutes triggered a topic I barely even experience being mentioned anymore and thank you for that. I constantly witness people being afraid to get out of situations like that and I've been thinking for quite a long while now if we've had enough of it and just given up or if we've grown to be weak against such matters. Not trying to imply that we're soft as a generation or as individuals in a negative manner, (bare with me I'm Greek I don't usually express my thoughts in English that much) but I do hardly believe that we run away from that "grind through it" feeling and aspect of life and it's nice to finally hear from someone outside a psychiatrist's office that they're actually here for people who deal with such endeavours daily. Thank you Jake and Heart Support.

Hey Jake ; Love your work and ABR, I've seen you guy 3 times and each time was a blast. I love the work you do with Heart Support and Mental Health Awareness. I have suffered from depression, high anxiety and am on the spectrum, also due to my condition and life situations I've been through, I've developed PTSD. This song reaches me and hits deep on a personal level because I have burden issues, but instead of someone else being the burden, it is I who is the burden and fading away. Like you, I am a man of Faith but I have seen and dealt with so much darkness it has lead me astray and off the path I need to be on. I have seeked professional help and counseling, but to no avail. I'm at my lowest of of lows and in my darkest days. I have your book "Mountains" and I know that these are just obstacles sent by the Enemy, but I'm having a hard time destroying them. Much Love Jake and if you do read this, it would mean so much to me and all the best to you and the boys in ABR.

From eagertuna0: @DyingInPlainSight Hello and thank you for reaching out here. While I'm certainly not Jake, I wanted to take a moment to acknowledge all that you're going through. Feeling like a burden can be such a difficult challenge, especially when the resources that are made to help us (e.g., counseling) just aren't working. It's easy to feel hopeless and miserable in times like these. It sounds like you also have some conditions that would make these struggles even more challenging, and this really can make these lows feel like a lot. While I haven't read "Mountains", to use a mountain metaphor for a moment, it sounds like you're trying to climb up to this place of self-improvement, but the path has seemingly become too steep. It can feel insurmountable and like our legs will give in. But also, perhaps what we really need is a hand to pull us up when it gets steep. This is all to say that it's okay to get help and to need a hand. Needing help doesn't mean that you're a burden, and I hope you continue reaching out in places like this because we care for you and want to help you throughout your journey. At the same time, it's important to recognize that what this hand looks like is different for everyone -- if reaching out here helps for you, that's wonderful and we're here for you. If it doesn't, that's okay too -- there are other options out there. It's also awesome to here that you're such a big fan of Jake; he really is an incredible person, and I personally am always so impressed by all he does for pulling incredible people (like you) into the discussion of mental health. It takes courage to share, so thank you again for trusting us with your story. Please don't hesitate to reach out again (on our KZread or forum.heartsupport.com/) if anything is on your mind; we're here for you as you climb these mountains. Wishing you all the best, Tuna

From Micro: @DyingInPlainSight It's hard to find the right support when it feels like there are forces working against you all the time. PTSD, anxiety and depression in themselves take so much of your energy, both physical and emotional. It's understandable that, at times, it feels like walking on a path that moves you further to the person you aspire to be, or the life you want to have. Dealing with pretty much the same struggles as you, there are definitely times when it feels like it has become who I am. That I am this addition of hurt, pain, traumas and darkness that never seem to leave me. That it would have become my identity and way to be in this world, and there wouldn't be any way to walk around that. After a while, it feels, as you said, that the burdens you carry become you. It feels like if you were to put yourself out there and open up to others, they would see how much *you* would be broken, and it's too hard to imagine the look in their eyes. My friend, I'd like to encourage you to keep trying seeking support the way you've been doing through professional help/counseling. I know it's difficult and discouraging at times to find both the right professional and the right type of therapy. All combined, you can end up meeting a certain amount of people before finding the right person for you. It takes time, it's exhausting, but it's also absolutely worth pursuing and persevering. Because this is about you, about your life, about your well-being and your future. You deserve to be supported during these dark seasons, for they are meant to be walked through and lead to better ones. They don't have to be a final destination, for you are SO, SO much more than the challenges and hurt life has been sending you. I'm so proud of you for sharing all of this here. I wholeheartedly believe in you, friend. You will rise again. - Marie-Anne, Heartsupport staff

Jake, this song is about Mancino. Everyone left the band except Phil. Tim and Mancino were the remaining original members and they had a falling out which led to the separation. That’s what this is about.

Always seen Ryan as a poor man's version of Josh Gilbert (not being mean btw) and it's like a full circle moment seeing him replacing him. When I heard he was the replacement I was like: yuh it's as it should be

I see essentially AILD is just Tim being the original member, obviously the og members still were hurt by what he did and couldn't carry on in the band together anymore. I love their sound tho, but I will miss Mancino & Hipa. I feel they were AILD's sound

Just tim an phil rite? Bc we know nick will not go back an josh is great in SB...is jordan there??? Dude wtf???
