Rooting isn't just side loading as side loading is only to load apps on to the TV or other android devices and rooting allows you to take control of the full system changing any file you want

So I was having that issue also specifically I use bee tv it ask which player you want to use and you select it and it wouldn’t load. To fix that you’ll have to go back and install the player it’s asking you to select then it should play right.

If I can't find downloader on my TV app store does this mean my TV is not an android TV :(

That's an overcomplicated way to explain a basic device feature. Most Android TVs don't need anything beyond enabling "unknowned sources" in order to install any desired app.
