I love the irony of those cars seeing that the regular Jaguar V12 was one of the quietest engines around - and the standard XJ-S was hardly a car to go racing in.

Haha yes and this is the opposite!
That's one bad ass car! Love it
Such a gorgeous symphony of the JAGUAR V12
Fantastic video, I have an 87 XJS V12 getting fine tuned. What a pleasure seeing this sexy machine rip around the track!
Oh yes I've found this again

And again
They didnt need a crappy yank chevvy in that motor.V12 racing Jaguars are absolute mint machines.
Fantastic look and sound. Great build.
Holy shiiiiii That’s a sexy XJS, Never had a car poster before but this one I’d make an exception for.
I remember when Group 44 was in a small garage in Falls Church, Virginia. Immaculate shop, beautifully prepared cars. As I recall they moved out to Winchester, VA later as they grew. Could be wrong about that though.
That snarl on the down change make my body hair prickle.
What a beast if a car i wish i would have modded my xjs like this when i owned one.

Still pissed I had to sell mine. I can tell you though, modded right you get more attention then you can imagine. Just such a beautiful car to begin with, add a nice exhaust and you're set.

Mans really just wrote an essay lmfao.
Excellent they kept the Pre HE black paint for the boot lid rear section.
What a peach of a car.. So flat in the corners with just a hint of graceful over steer..
Damn that’s a lot of tire!!
Wat een beest, geweldig !!
Awesome!
The V12 had so much potential as everything was over-engineered by the factory...
Love to scream down the freeway in one of these.
Who made those wheels? I want some for my XJS.
Pure mechanical sound . All todays v12s sound synthetic somehow . Aventador sounds good though but somehow still fake
Any ideas as to what gearbox was used with this engine.
Who owns this car?
Did any of these race in the Trans-Am series back when they were new? Would be awesome footage up against the Camaro's, 'Cuda's and Mustangs of the era.
Yes Sir!
this car is so loud in person
Niceeee
Thank god for Trans Am. Sadly it isn't the same as it was in the 60s til the 90s.
capri E30 wow~
Why doesn't he fit some wide tires??

How wide? I seems to get plenty of grip, why add more resistance?

Does anyone know which manual transmission was used in this XJ-S?
@chris425amp7

Could be a Getrag 5 speed

Its the stock XJS 4 speed manual box. 1981 they installed a Jerico

@@joshuak4372 Pardon my ignorance, but what does "Jericho style" mean? I did a Google search and it was not very helpful. Cheers!

@@EdAb “Jerico” performance parts. Similar to what you’d find in NASCAR.
Sounds even meaner than someone who wants to "Speak to the manager"
Why does this one sound so vastly different from all the other xjs v12 videos i wonder 🤔

The flat head cylinder heads may have something to do with it, also not running an X pipe (or H pipe) would effect the tone as well.
They make the best looking race cars in my opinion however Id still go bb chevy like was a very popular swap years ago.
Still can't beat the Exhaust Sound of Early XK 3.4 or 3.8 DOHC I6 Cyl
🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🙈🙉🙊
dude is barely going past 2000 rpm, open that puppy up!!!!
Rather sedate sounding, what? No grande problemme bouncing up the ole M5 in this buggy...on holiday...with the kiddies eating crisps & the doggie-woggie peeing on the fabrics.

@@ULTMTGMR-rj9bt It be, mon ami, counter-productive, and a wasteful endeavor to explain a joke...or an obscure poem. However, because I am assured that you are a 'stand-up' fellow, I was stating that the Jag appeared to be muffled, and quieter than a race prepared car, a proper 'screamer' as were the ones that I have heard...this one more like a highway going, family one. Take care.
