    I love the irony of those cars seeing that the regular Jaguar V12 was one of the quietest engines around - and the standard XJ-S was hardly a car to go racing in.

    They didnt need a crappy yank chevvy in that motor.V12 racing Jaguars are absolute mint machines.

    I remember when Group 44 was in a small garage in Falls Church, Virginia. Immaculate shop, beautifully prepared cars. As I recall they moved out to Winchester, VA later as they grew. Could be wrong about that though.

    Still pissed I had to sell mine. I can tell you though, modded right you get more attention then you can imagine. Just such a beautiful car to begin with, add a nice exhaust and you're set.

    I love the jaguar xjs they are my favourite cars in the world they really are I mean I love styles looks and the engine they are amazing go from 3.6 all the way upto 6.0 litre v12 I just love this car means a lot to me I know it's hard for some people understand but I had tough time in school I was bad moment of life where had nothing going for my self and it was really you know but my dad brought a jaguar xjs 3.6 inline 6 and five speed manual gearbox twr spec body kits but my dad gave it to me I was really young I'm 18 years of age and from moment but it change my life a lot like I was computer everyday training learn about car and xjs history and went through some hard times and thought me a lot and I'm at collage doing car mechanics and I've been there for three years now and it's amazing you know I'm something that I wanted to do for hole life it's mad but jaguar xjs is hero for me and I'd rather have jaguar xjs than any car in the world that's how much i love

    Pure mechanical sound . All todays v12s sound synthetic somehow . Aventador sounds good though but somehow still fake

    Did any of these race in the Trans-Am series back when they were new? Would be awesome footage up against the Camaro's, 'Cuda's and Mustangs of the era.

    Its the stock XJS 4 speed manual box. 1981 they installed a Jerico

    The flat head cylinder heads may have something to do with it, also not running an X pipe (or H pipe) would effect the tone as well.

However, because I am assured that you are a 'stand-up' fellow, I was stating that the Jag appeared to be muffled, and quieter than a race prepared car, a proper 'screamer' as were the ones that I have heard...this one more like a highway going, family one.
