Those of us who actually 'get' jags know exactly what you're talking about. The view that the ignorant masses have that they are a 'pipe and slippers' car for old men is so outdated and wrong that it's laughable. In fact it was never right. I've been in love with jags since my dad owned an old mk10 in the 1970s . Sitting in that car was like being in another world. I bought my first Jag aged 22 , indeed it was my first proper car. I am now 60 and I have an xf sportbrake V6 and a 1974 xj6 in the garage. Both beautiful cars in their own right and either can turn a clean set of heels when you want to. Let the great unwashed think what they want. It just means those of us in the know get our fabulous cars at a great price.

I’ve just bought this jag 2014. I’m 30, raised in the streets of Birmingham & everyone is laughing at me telling me it’s an old mans car. But they’ll soon see when I’ve finished adding tints, de chrome, bigger and better alloys, ad Tesla screen & all that other good stuff what a beast it actually is 💪🏼💪🏼

My XF was my first Jaguar and being a 2009 model, its proven to be very reliable. And its sooooo gorgeous too. The new XF is diluted luxury compared the 1st generation XF. My car still smells like leather and wood inside and I love it.

Hilton do you know what I totally agree. One of my friends pulled up in the new xf and I have to say. I was very disappointed. If nothing else. Where did the middle swivel vents go!! Bad move Jag. The new one just doesn't have the same feel to it. It doesn't feel like a Jag!!!! It feels like a normal car. All of the Jag fans out there know what we are talking about to!!!

I’m extremely late to this comment but I feel the same way, I prefer the older XF’s to the new ones. The interior just isn’t the same leather clad bit of kit it was. My 2009 XK still smells of rich leather and wood, even after 198k. My fathers 2005 XKR does too. Guess it truly is a family thing, Ross!

What model year is the new XF please?

I have the 2010 XF Supercharged. Despite its quirks, i love the vehicle. 470hp supercharged V8 =badass. Cannot be beat for the price, and power it offers.

I have the same 2010 XF supercharged and I love it. I have it for 3 years now and I am still in love with it.

I just got a 2012 3.0d PL. Best car I have ever owned and for the same money I could have had a top of the range 6 month old Astra. I can't believe I was even contemplating that! Everything you say in this video is how I feel about this car. Smooth and quiet when you want to just get somewhere and then an absolute hooligan when you want to have some fun! I didn't think I would ever own a Jag and if you think the same take a look at the prices for 2009-2013 3.0d cars. A proper car for less than the price of a family hatchback.

2.2, avoid the 3.0 (chocolate engines), and the 2.0 in the later ones are horrendous. The 2.2 is the DW12, the 2.2 version of the 2.0 DW10 thats in the black mondeo. Only thing to watch on XFs is windscreens leak, any steamed windows etc walk away, the electrics under the seats cop for the water that comes in and corrode the connections on the ECUs, other than that they are really good cars. Cambelts are 72k or 5 years. ?????

Just bought my first Jaguar xf, 2.2, 2015. I cannot believe that it has taken me so long to get one. The feel good factor everytime I get in it is brilliant. It's got a twin personality. It can be Mr sensible when you need it to be and then it's hoodlum side is lurking close by when you want to let your hair down.

I watched this video and brought a jaguar xf portfolio and I love it

My neighbour has a lovely silver XF 3.0d Portfolio S which he treasures. I love the looks, smell of the fine leather and the quality of wood used. It's a special place to be in and I always ask to sit in his car, imagining I own it. I hope to own it one day soon.

Had two s types just bought xf brilliant car. We as a family love jags we have an e type, xjr could say we're all jagged up!!

Agreed on the Audi boring statement. The XF is a beautiful car. And the Sportbrake version is pretty unique, you rarely see another one. Yes Audi, Merc and BMW do some things better, but the XF is just more unique and special.

Love your passion for Jaguars, which I share. I have an XFS - black with cream leather, as in your video. Without doubt it's the greatest car I have owned. So powerful, graceful, classy and fun, and a real head-turner. Next, it can only be the F-Type!

Couldn't agree more. Had my 2012 XF-S for over 3 years now. Classy, beautiful ( those are the best wheels ) serene comfy ride and if you press the dynamic button and pop the gearbox in S, a total lunatic. I put an S grill badge on mine. Just finishes the grill off perfectly.

Exactly well-spoken if you've never driven one get inside one and drive the xfr..it will hypnotize you. That tantalizing scent of Rich Italian leather and the smell of the real wood always makes you want to sit in that car and never get out

Got my XF Sportbreak 3.0d s a year ago. Totally love it. Every drive is special. I never realised just how sporty they are. The ride is supernatural. Totally agree with Audi being boring they all look like they were designed by a depressed account.

I'm on my second Jaguar, the 1st was a 03 S Type 4.2 V8 base. An amazing car. It never was in the shop with the exception of oil change. One of those most reliable cars I've ever had. I sold it to my cousin it's 15 yrs old and had 150k well loved miles on it. The only reason I sold it was to buy my 2012 XF Supercharged V8 Portfolio edition. What a beautiful car. Again no problems with it either. If this XF is as good as the S Type was, I'll drive it to 15 years old and 150k miles. My next one, if they still call them that I'll have the XJ L. I think from now on I'll have a Jag. After a Jaguar nothing else will compare.

Up date, after about 6 months the problems began. Water pump, electrical short I the trunk, fuel pump, a $2,000+ computer, another fuel pump. And then the killer. It blew the head gasket and had never been overhead or hot. I hate this POS car. I traded it in on a Lincoln MKS Eco-boost AWD sedan. Much nicer and a better ride than the Jaguar plus still soprts car enough with paddle shifters. Never buy a Tata in Jag Drag!

Just bought a Jaguar XF S 3.0 V6 Diesel, and all I can day is that I share your enthusiasm!

I've owned a BMW M2. A Maserati Quattroporte gts 4.7. A Nismo 370, 370 GT, Cupra 290, Audi TT FRSI Quattro, Cayman S, I've owned some lovely cars. My all time fav, my old X-Type, 2.5 sport from 15 years ago, My recent XE Supercharged, lovely lovely car, although a bit small and now finally dipping into a 3.0 XF Supercharged Portfolio, with black pack, white leather trim and 20" alloys inch. Cannot wait! There is something very special about these cars.

Just bought my first Jag Xf 3.0d s. Black with red calipers. I 💯 agree 👍 with this guy Ross.

Loved the video and agreed with all your comments. I had a 3.0d Premium Luxury mark 1 XF (the X250 model) for 5 years. Best car I had ever owned in 40 years of motoring. Stylish, quick, superbly comfortable, great handling and actually very reliable. People thought I was loaded lol. I now have the 3 litre supercharged XF mark 2 (X260 model). Gorgeous car and an absolute beast to unleash. Better interior room, much better tech than the X250, better handling too. I did prefer the wood/leather interior on the X250 but this XF S model with the contrast red stitching and black/red leather is lovely. Mates who have driven in BMWs say the Jag is far better inside. Glad to see a motoring enthusiast spread the word about Jaguar. As you say, you have to test drive one. Guarantee you will be blown away!

That's exactly why i'm buying Jag XF diesel next year. I became a fan just by reading the reviews. It's flawless. Audi's are all the same,BMW are only cool when its a 7 - series, Benz S-class. Jags offer something near to that in a unique way

There are other cool BMW's as well: 6 Series coupé (E63, F13), 8 Series ... I own an XF and a 6 Series coupé ... love them both.

Personally I would buy the facelift version. I don’t know what the years are like over in the US however if you can get the one I showed in my video/ V8 that is a really good car! The earlier ones did suffer with a few problems. That being said. It is a jag and it is a love affair. Portfolio is a lovely car! Good luck on your search :)

I love Jaguars alot especially the XJ and the XF but ive been hesitant to consider them once I get my license and can afford one due to all the horror stories that ive heard and read and lots of people saying they are just endless money pits you should avoid that you can never really use. Is this true from your experience or would you recommend them?

Same engine dude but the slower 6 speed gearbox. Not much in it and I think both are beautiful but I think I want a 2012 XFS. I think I’d rather a premium luxury 2012 than a Portfolio 2011 with all the added extra’s

Hope you don't end up with a broken heart. Since you love the car so much. I had a 03 S Type V8 4.2 naturally aspirated it was an excellent car I got rid of at 15 year's old and 157k well loved miles. Having been such a good car I purchased a XF Supercharged V8 Portfolio Edition. I loved the car for about 6 months after that the problems began. First a water pump, a wiring short in the trunk, then a trunk latch, then a fuel pump, a $2,000+ computer failure, a 2nd fuel pump and at 84k miles and not once ever overheating it blew the head gasket. That came with a $10,000 repair bill. It not only damaged the head but also the aluminum block. This would require a engine replacement. I got rid of the POS car and bought a Lincoln MKS Eco-boost AWD sedan. A much nicer car than the XF. Tata has ruined JLR. "Piano Black" is Tata's fancy word for Cheap Black Plastic! Don't buy a Tata in Jag Drag! You can't even get a V8 anymore! A single turbo V6 is all that is available anymore. Hope you have better luck than I did with the POS I had!

Right with you Ross, I've loved Jags all my life, love mine so much I'm bringing it back to the UK from Qatar next week. Mines a 3.o V6 Supercharged Petrol!

I really like the Jag xf I want 1,but I have beards about reliability issues,heavy mpg,lots of things breaking down,is that the case?

As I am sure that model gets older I am sure like all cars they will have problems. However I’ve never really experienced anything bad, they can be a bit heavy on the brakes but that’s about it really from my experience ;)

purchases xf 2010 ..the car is fantastic,,comfort speed style ,,no crazy on fuel ...but if your in the market for one check below the spare wheel for water ingress if unchecked it can build up and destroy the battery and a hefty bill for electrics ,,remove spare wheel and there 2x 8mm bolts holding the plastic subwoofer in dont forget to unplug conector block ..easy inspection ..there are drain holes and a rubber bung in the boot floor .it seems to be a fault around rear light cluster seals but cant veryfy this it's just my experience ..it shouldn't put you off ,,its so much car for so little money ..hidden gem

I agree with you 100%. I love the 2012 - 2015 Jaguar body style even more than the latest 2016/17 style. 7:41 - I LOVE the black grill. Then there's the grill underneath the headlights... I LOVE the Chrome finish along the outline and how that horizontal bar inside it curves upwards instead of downwards unlike other XF's which curve downwards. The only thing I don't like is the poor gas mileage. 16mpg is just nutz.

Couldn't agree with this guy anymore. I've exactly the same XF-S model and it's a rocket ship with almost Bentley level interior, some people even think your driving an Aston. Plus it's reliable, well built and cheap to run, get 55 to 65mpg cruising about. Won't be going back to my old BMW again!

Hiya, just bought 2010 XF 3L etc and having heard a lot about jags through mainly KZread, I don’t think I’ve been so connected to a car? Ever! I agree where audis, Mercs and BMWs are nice, they are completely different from jags. This new revalation by jaguar is just amazing, and I have definitely become attached. I mean I just don’t know what else to say….it’s all been said!

It’s no doubt they’re very beautiful cars. My neighbor has one and it is lovely, but every other weekend it’s in the shop for some repairs, sometimes the dealers has a hard time figuring out what wrong with it. It’s about to drive my neighbor crazy. Maybe he was unlucky and bought the wrong one, a XF S 2018. I have a BMW, he had one and a Mercedes. Thought he would try a Jaguar because how they looked. He trying too sale his Jag and but another BMW. He’s a hard time selling it. You would think the car has been owned by several companies, some company would want to make it not only a beautiful car but also a car that’s reliable. The Japanese and the German’s still make better car as for as reliability.

Iv got a 10plate XF 3L S 279BHP Standard iv had it remapped now it has 390bhp, and 640lb of torque, I race ST AND RS focus and RS Audis, It is RAPID 🚗💨⚡
