Fixed a car I was having issues with, thank you. Strange because even with factory software "recovering" keys all worked out, all key verification procedures worked fine. I think the tell-tale sign that it is immobilizer related is when there is faults in another module about 'target identification'. In my scenario only the central locking was inoperative just like yours. But I talked to someone else and sometimes it can cause the vehicle to not start.

The little battery is auto stop and ECO start battery.

Once the battery is disconnected and your key still works to start the engine, but the doors do not lock or unlock via the key fob, you need to use “Autologic” or “SLR SDD” for Jaguar to run the immobilizer/reset.

Using a Autel ms905 it's an old machine last updated 2017 connects via Bluetooth, the issue was finally resolved using autologic with the jaguar software cheers sandy

These are known for causing issues. You need to power the car down properly before changing the main battery. You also should use a memory saver or you'll get loads of issues..... Keys not being recognised, central locking no longer working etc etc. The small battery is to keep the electrics alive during stop/start. Most face lift XR's get the low battery warning when switching the ignition on... That's normal.

I replaced my battery in my 2013 Jaguar Xf and it says it gots 14.2 volts with the car on and 12.1 with the car off and my center column for the unlock and lock and trunk do not work. Is it a fuse ?

The voltage doesn’t seem high to me, usually I see them up to 14 when full

Hello there, I have the same problem with my car and even after replacing the small battery, the problem is still there! Central lock isn't working and I can't use the fob to lock the car. Any help please?

The problem is when you disconnect the battery it causes a fault, it will need to be connected to a jaguar ssd and have a security relearn. I had the same problem

Autologic can do relearn also

That small battery is not a lead acid battery, and the high voltage is appropriate for that kind battery. So you may look somewhere else for the problem

XF is not enough, mention how many cylinders the car has.
