These versions that The Maestro sang in his concerts are for his son who passed away in a car accident in 1990. These were more of impromptu improvisations that he made on the stage but that came from his heart. In a way this was Jagjit ji’s catharsis for the immense pain that life gave him. No wonder these versions are so heart wrenching and soul stirring. You were, are and will remain the best Jagjit Singh.
