Interesting solution. The only ones I've seen before were huge screens that replace the entire console. The big screen solution looks more modern (and has Google Maps), but if you want to keep the car as close to original as possible, this solution may be worth considering (as the big screen leaves you with no controls at all if it fails - this way you at least still have the physical buttons for some important features).

I personally like this build more than an aftermarket Tesla big screen. I love the original look. And the size of the screen is enough for Navigation. And the screen that comes with the kit is a lot nicer than the original.

Yes! The basic kit includes Bluetooth for music streaming. Bluetooth calls can be added by Android Auto / CarPlay option.

@@jagaux1688 30 heck 40 mpg, decent for a 207 HP twin turbo 2.7L power plant. However the AGR and DPF are horrible, and the fact that some are at risk of sponteanous engine failure due to a cheap crankshaft made me sell it.

Looks nice. Will it work with original rear monitors in headrests (e.g. playing cartoons from the mobile phone internal memory for kids during the juorney)? How long are you planning to keep this avilable to buy (I have some major issues to fix with car first).

Hi there, I see on the order form you can include the reversing camera option. Does this mean a camera would need to be installed in the back of the car too, and does it include the camera that syncs to the screen?

HI there! Yes 1 camera will be included in the package. It will be triggered by a reverse gear and it will be in the same video format as an Android. Installing the camera is solely your option. Android will work without the camera as well. Also you can install a second camera up in the front (there will be a separate input for that).

Great work sir. I have two questions, please. 1. Are you planning to build any more? 2. Does the connection to the navigation unit in the trunk have to be functional, or can it be bypassed and to retain only the new functions?

1. Yes, I will be making more after I deal with the pre-orders made for April. 2. Without NAVI you will not have Climate control and Audio working. It will blow on max. So no, Android will not work without it. But why would you need to bypass the NAVI unit?

I like your idea but have two questions: How can I use my mobile telephone - not with JAGAUX I understand but what is with the original Jaguar-solution in the background. Can I use this similar that means parallel to JAGAUX or will the Jaguar phone not work when JAGAUX is activated? My second question is if I can use your JAGAUX with an iPhone?

Good question! If you have OEM Jaguar Bluetooth / Phone, it will work in the same way, muting the Android while in call. Your iPhone can be connected to both Jaguar and JAGAUX at the same time. In that way you will have full audio output from your phone to the system. JAGAUX for music and Jaguar for calls.

Also you can turn on a WiFi hotspot in your phone and connect Android to it for traffic updates, internet radio, KZread, browsing. Yes, iPhone and Android phones can be connected to the system.

How do you deal with switching back and forth between Android and the stock Jag interface, in an Apple CarPlay scenario ? in other words, does your CarPlay dongle play ball with simply hitting a the climate button (say), then again hitting NAV button anytime to get back to the Android features, or is it a case of having to run a switchover app to keep the dongle drivers happy, prior to switching over to the OEM controls? Thanks.

Actually CarPlay works as a launcher through an Android app. So going back to just Android can be made either through switching between the apps or by unplugging the CarPlay box. And CarPlay launcher will be always on top of Android original one. So hitting the NAV button will first display that.

@@jagaux1688 Yes, but have you tested the back-and-forth scenario I described, with CarPlay ? in other words, when running CarPlay, you simply press one of the OEM-related buttons (e.g. climate control, CD, Audio settings ...etc), and you switch back to the Android system by simply pressing the Nav button, and continue where you left off? I ask because non of the cheap and nasty CarPlay/Android Auto dongles out there can cope with a situation like this, without needing a restart or a workaround through a launcher app, where you'd have a launcher push the mirroring app to the background, prior to using any of the OEM audio system buttons. Thanks in advance.

As far as I have tested I have not met this issue. New CarPlay modules are arriving soon and I will make a thorough test and even will try to make a separate video on that. But I had no such issues you where mentioning.

Yep, just received and tested a new CarPlay module. It crashes as you described. Had to implement that workaround into the system to automatically switch the app to background and back. So it would not be crashing while switching. Thanks for pointing out!

I have added some more options to pay at checkout. The power rating to the speakers is same. Original functions are not touched. Android is only added as a feature to the OEM radio.

No, it is not. Your car has to have navigation screen. You need to make a retrofit in order to make it work.

@@user-rz4ic6yv2c If you have Bluetooth in your car, that can be used as a main phone and it will stop all audio from all sources during the call. If using CarPlay/Android auto for calls, then it will stop all playback only while in Android mode.

Retrofit is doable if you have: Harness, microphone, BTUM module, phone module + d2b optical lead. Sometimes I see full kits on eBay...
