What a sweet thing to say! Sri Purandara Dasa, who is the composer of this beautiful dAsa pada is considered the Karnataka shastriya Sangita pitamah. Also the carnatic music has had rich contributions by the Telugu stalwarts starting with the holy trinity of Carnatic music, Saint composer Thyagaraja, Sri Shyama Shastri and Sri Muthuswamy Dikshitar. Listening to compositions of any of these four - a dip in bhakti guaranteed.

Sir it was created 5 centuries ago by father of carnatic/Karnataka music Sri Purandara dasa. Today's Kannada is same as it was 5 centuries ago.

You can see kids like him in California and across US, Canada most South Indian families with a taste for classical music, dance encourage their kids to learn the art. Many teachers like Ranjani , Gayathri visit them for annual celebration of Music and conduct workshops. My nephew's son (age 10) too is a Carnatic music learner in San Francisco.

That is the exact phrase where MS Subbulakshmi , while in her UN concert , involuntarily folded her hands ! She was so involved ! That really seems to be the magic line for people who get involved in the song !

Thank you for this. Even as an indian to get a translation of something so beautiful is something new to me. Specially since Jan nmashtami (the birth of Lord Krishna) is round the corner. I hope you guys do a video about that. ☺️

This again another masterpiece arrangement by Kuldeep Pai. These kids already were learning music from their teachers. You should see some of the videos where Kuldeep Pai is teaching them what the music is all about and how the purpose is to make the audience take the journey with them emotionally and bring tears of joy due to inner fulfilment by employing various vocal gymnastics after understanding the essence of the song. Pai, besides being a vocalist, pianist, flutist, percussionist himself, is also a graduate in sound recording. He is currently training in western classical too. The man is a genius and is moulding these kids in the right direction
