i totally agree with this. he can just go with flow and throw any funny antics or he can make an awkward situation into a fun/funny one. i hope he can show more of this side. i hope SM just let him be himself, and not much controlling of his public persona.. :(

The pressure of potraying the character SM has created for him must've took a toll on him. Just remember when he said "he was feeling too much pressure of being perfect" in one of his Vlive. That is why he sometimes may look more reserved and quiet, poor kid. Either way, it is nice to see he's still enjoying himself around from time to time.

I feel like it is a mixture of both sm and fans. Looking at limitless era, he seemed to be how he is now. Goofy but a bit more shy. I believe when he got more attention fir his looks that is when we saw the change in tone if that makes sense and thus jaehyun struggles with how to show off. Aka does he show his "idol" self or his "true" self which I hope we see that more than the "idol" persona because that is the best version we can ask for ^.^

Ive seen the Vlive too.. He wanted to pour something out but he kinda reserve it thinking that maybe it would bored fans or something.. I think if some of us could have a chance to meet him(during events) or went to his vlives could praise him and say hes perfect as he already is.. Its good to have a persona to u know gather fans but not for him since he himself is already interesting, dorky, funny and talented as well.. The visual is a bonus!

@@labonnovalentine5946Mark, Johnny, Ten, and Jaehyun were filming something and somehow they started talking about bananas from Amazon (because they were drinking beverages) and Mark asked, "Where is this from?" and Johhny said, "Ama-John", which is basically a pun in Korean, Ama means probably and John is of course Johnny, so Ama-John, Amazon. Ten didn't understand this and he asked Mark about it and before Mark could explain it Ten said, "John's banana?" which is basically a dirty joke, so after a few seconds Mark and Johnny started laughing and I don't know why but Jaehyun didn't understand the whole thing and was talking about his own drink and he made some joke but no one was paying attention because of the banana joke.

Even Mark said something like you never miss an opportunity. It makes me wonder how creative and witty he is when they are off camera lol

yesss!! he was and still is such a dork but ever since the visual+prince title became big he's been a lot more reserved and quiet. i wish people could see past his visuals amd talent and appreciate his dorky and outgoing personality

It's not a matter of being unfunny, he's just not confident in his sense of stability (?) So that he can make jokes like he normally would around like, Johnny for instance. He, in general, is very unsure of himself. Friends like Johnny give him that initial push and drive he needs to be more outgoing and loose. And most only focus on his appearance. He knows he's handsome, he's been told so be a bunch of people, but people overlook his person by focusing solely on his looks, and that alone makes me big sad. Come on y'all. Yes, he's a pretty boy, but he's more than just a face. Treat him like so. /Mini rant off/

he actually became my bias because of nct cracks vidéos and him singing a whole new world during smrookies era. I fell in love with his voice and goofy side. And it’s really make me sad to see that a lot of “fans” only care about his appearance.

@@SicaRun It may seem that way when you don't analyze his stature. Like when he's MCing, his movements come off as forced and jerky, because he's not relaxed enough to let himself be fluid around others he doesn't know well. Of course, when it comes to anything about his looks like when they bring it up, it's nothing new to him, so he's very easily able to show himself off because of the same attention he's been getting for years. In his relay cam with Johnny, he was very languid and relaxed, he could actually make jokes and not hesitate to make them. If you literally see him around anyone who he doesn't know informally, He's calculated, doesn't let himself be comfortable because he thinks me might say something that the other won't like. This is just an observation btw, I don't know him personally, but from the same mindset he's seemingly been in from the start, I think I can pin some arguments.

He seems more carefree in joking around this era too if you guys noticed 😁

Well honestly it's unfortunate, but it's a part of the K-pop culture. Every member comes with a concept, a position, and an onscreen personality. We do get glimpses of who they are fortunately through videos, but most of it is contrived. I think they get in trouble when they start to act outside of their personas.

@@ineedya123 yeah as much as I love kpop, it's the little details like this that make me feel a little mad with the company because I just want these guys and all kpop idols to just enjoy themselves, but I guess in every job you are told to do something and if you don't then you get in trouble, it's just unfortunate that kpop idols are told to mess with theor own identity, but I'm still very thankful that they get to do variety shows or vlives where we get to see a little more of their real character💛

He shouldn't show so much of his personality on screen especially moments of reality when he is said, angry, character flaws ect. He is human like yourself, so giving a filtered version of himself, or allowing only certain aspects to be seen through vlive ect, is better for him in the long run.

His looks remained about the same when he was in sm rookies so SM definately knew he was going to have prince like looks. Looks, manners, intelligence etc fits into people opinion of a fairy tale prince. SM should know by now that real fans can tell when the members of groups they stan are acting out their roles and being genuine and they prefer genuine.
