Announcer has no idea that ncaa women do not use the RESTRICTED area arch any longer. I would not call it RAN OVER. She simply took a charge and paid the price.

Definitely in the restricted area. Bad call. EDIT: Women's rule change for 2023-24 has "The 'restricted' area directly underneath the basket. Defenders cannot establish a legal guarding position directly underneath the basket. This rule also eliminates the lower defensive box rule." Under this new rule, there will be no need for any additional court markings on the floor, aka, the old restricted area arc.

NCAA Women's Basketball made a rule change this year" No more calls in the restricted circle area anymore this season - it's changed to 'directly under the hoop'. Charges can be taken in the restricted area.

Correct with the edit. Of course, 95% of women’s teams play in the same arena as the men’s team and thus the court needs the markings for the men. It’s also a horrible rule. We should not be encouraging defenders to camp under the basket, women’s basketball needs to be more free-flowing, staying in the paint is the opposite of that
